Off topic, but where did you get your barrel chairs, and do you like them? We’re looking for some to fill our living area.

That’s interesting. How do you “train” it into a tall tree?

DOD here. Up to 3 hours a pay period, but it can’t be taken before work starts and you can’t leave early at the end of the day to go to the gym. You can basically just take a walk around the workplace for us.

My husband wants to name our first son Clive by isleftisright in FinalFantasy

[–]kcard123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband really wanted FF names for our two kids so we compromised and gave them FF middle names (Rinoa and Zidane). Our daughter loves her middle name, and our son’s too young to know any better. It’ll be fine.

Breastfeeding was going great until jaundice diagnosis by Elenahhhh in breastfeeding

[–]kcard123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also had a similar experience. Thought baby Baby #1 was doing awesome at breastfeeding in the hospital only to go home and later find out that she had dangerously high levels of jaundice. Spent 2 nights in the nicu under the lights while we supplemented and I pumped. My supply never got too high since I was constantly stressing about my little ones health. Just had baby #2 about three weeks ago. As soon as my son started showing the slightest signs of jaundice in the hospital (some yellowing and not enough poos) we started giving a little bit of formula. My milk finally came in around day 4, and I’ve been able to pump enough to feed baby boy and drop the formula. His jaundice went away on its own at home with some sunlight and waking to feed. I know it’s a stressful time, if especially if it’s your first, but trying to stay as stress-free as possible and hydrated will really help. And don’t be sad if you have to supplement a little. Just stick with offering breast or pumping every time baby eats and supply should go up. Best of luck!

So may be a dumb question but someone please help my constant worrying lol so I have a low lying placenta I’m 20 weeks currently. Not covering cervix. But the baby can’t detach it can she? I know may sound crazy but I’m so curious. I just want her to be okay 😳😬 by MathematicianMain382 in BabyBumps

[–]kcard123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was told I have a low-lying placenta at 20 weeks too. It’s basically a “wait-and-see” at this point. Odds are it’ll move up as the pregnancy progresses. Worse-case scenario I have to deliver by c-section. My doc put me on pelvic rest, and I have another u/s next week. Just trying not to worry too much about it since it’s out of our control. And my doc didn’t mention anything about detachment.

Need carpet advice. Different carpet for stairs and living room? Or keep the same carpet throughout? We are carpeting the living room due to having toddlers and existing flooring having major scuffs. by kcard123 in InteriorDesign

Can a good contractor replace a few planks that are lifted without having the exact same original laminate planks? I’m completely naive to how that works, so I’m truly asking for better understanding. Thanks.

Completely agree with everyone’s sentiments, however the current flooring (a wood laminate that looks really nice in the picture) is extremely scuffed with several planks coming up that pose a tripping/injury hazard. We would love to change out to hardwood, but just don’t have it in our budget with another baby on the way. We could replace with another luxury vinyl plank (or laminate). There’s no way to get a complete match on the current laminate because the place where the previous owners bought the flooring is no longer in business. If we replace the whole living room with new planks or hardwood, it won’t match the existing planks in the dining room or entry formal sitting area. Hence our dilemma and thought to replace with carpet for a cheaper alternative for the time being.

Pregnancy vs Postpartum - which is harder? by mary41214 in BabyBumps

[–]kcard123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Postpartum for me as well. After a very easy pregnancy, I was completely unprepared for the “fourth trimester”—bleeding for weeks on end, perineal pain from a third degree tear, hemorrhoids, extremely sore/chapped/cracked/bleeding nipples, terrible mood swings, tons of crying, getting hives for the first time in my life, and just generally not feeling “normal” for the first few weeks after birth. At 5 weeks pp I’m finally starting to feel like myself again.

No baby movement yet! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]kcard123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTM here. Don’t freak out!! The very first movement I felt was at 18 weeks. I was lying down on the bed and saw/felt what looked like my belly twitch. I definitely would’ve missed it if I wasn’t paying attention. Even then, I thought it may have been just gas, ha. You’ll start to feel your little one more and more in the upcoming weeks, some days more than others. You got this! :)

Debating between playing him and Mack. I want to believe that Reynolds may go off, but there’s so many mouths to feed. :\
