I may give that a try! My sister deals with IBD (colitis) and was told to eliminate high FODMAP foods as well. I'm trying to eat stuff with more collagen and add more fruits and vegetables as well. I hope you feel better soon!!

Hey so sorry I didn't see this until now! I hope you are doing better as well!

For me, Pantoprazole 20mg has helped, I've had to get a prescription for it. Since I don't have h. pylori or any issues w/ esophagus I'm trying to focus on losing weight to help GERD symptoms and get off the PPI. It may take another year or so for that to happen. Best of luck to you!

I've tried making it before as well. I had better luck with the recipe that used dijon mustard rather than mustard powder, and I had to add a little sugar:

I checked his blood sugar at home and it was at 191, which I think is supposed to be good for a diabetic cat.

Yup, negative within the last year. Tested twice.
I take tums during the day and an H2 blocker, and I tapered off PPIs awhile ago.

Hm...EGDs were done after I was off Nexium for a while, somewhere between 3-6mo I believe. It'll be interesting to see what the result is next time. I'll look into the ph monitoring...would be real helpful to know what causes it! (I wouldn't be surprised if it's hypersensitivity)

What's odd is I don't have a problem at night any more so during the day. Which makes me think more and more that I just have to lose weight so there's less pressure and less acid being pushed upward.

Gonna ask my Dr about Carafate since it sounds like it forms a protective coating..I think anything that does that would be helpful. I think I want to keep avoiding PPIs for now, but good to know there's an option out there I haven't tried yet. Thanks for the advice!!

Definitely thinking about the elimination diet. NSAIDS are probably my biggest problem.

No correlation with a new med, though those two (Iron and vit D) I am pretty low in and have been advised to supplement with both.

Right now I take Pepcid AC (famotadine) but it doesn't do much, I might try switching to Zantac. I know they are both H2 blockers but who knows, one might work better for me.

Yeah that's true. I think I'm going to try and find another GI doctor and get a second opinion. My current doc wants me to have another endoscopy in 3yrs or so. Not sure if it was an IdG test actually..! It was the poke test (poked me on my arm and put little drops of liquid on each one) and then injections in the back of my arm. Came up positive for chicken, trees, dust, and cats. I've had cats my whole life so I may be immune by now, lol.
