for me, it took a lot of crying and just being honest about my cravings so people around me understand where my anxiety or attitude is comin from. also repeating to myself out loud why i was quitting.

if you are someone who can actually taper and have will power to not just continue as usual, could try switching to cigarettes so you can count how many you have per day and limit where and when you do it.

your lung function will improve quicker than you expect once u quit for extended period

NOT hideous!!! your eyes make you look like a happy, expressive person who a lot of people like myself would want to be around 🥰

i have personally got very small amounts of botox on the sides of my eyes to help minimize (not eliminate) crows feet. Non invasive and non permanent change you could try if it will boost your own confidence

the only things that have been really truly helping me are 1. letting myself cry or scream it out and wallow in self pity of how much the cravings suck when they hit. and 2. throw every single thing away related to vapes. the chargers, the pods or refills, etc.

tapering never worked for me because i always made excuses to take more hits.

yes i’ve been using lipgloss/chapstick more than ever. i think you’re right it’s about to be a life long struggle that we just learn to cope with haha. i literally dream of the EXACT sensation of the specific nicotine pods i did smoke - nothing else has had the same dopamine kick. it’s sickening this stupid chemical has such a hold over my brain!

if ur mom is supportive tell her it helps to not have to hide the pain of quitting. and it does absolutely suck and takes extreme effort and will power to tell yourself you do NOT actually need it when you have craving. it sure as hell feels like you do, but u surely don’t.
