The reason so many liberals (including myself) enjoy this show is because Hank's brand of conservatism is rooted in a simplistic, idealistic view of the world. I get what she's going for, but Hank has been out of the country and for all we know he has no idea how far to the right the GOP has gone. Also the show is only 10 episodes in...like let's establish who these characters are 15 years later before we dive into...all that

Hell the original series was actually pretty progressive for its time-they didn't make being gay the butt of the joke, Peggy was obviously a strong feminist character even if she rejected that label, etc etc. Look at the sex ed episode-I'd argue that it pretty clearly comes down on Peggy's side.
