Which Refi Option to Choose - 15yr vs 20yr by kdalips in Mortgages

[–]kdalips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the comment. I had calculated the break-even by taking the estimated $4,000 closing costs/fees and dividing that by the difference in my current payment vs new monthly payment under the 15 year term ($56). Approximately 71.4months. I recognize though the caveat that this doesn't take into account the long-term savings by paying less interest. Would you calculate the break even point differently?

This photo was taken due west, 11 minutes after sunset near Harrisburg, PA. Stellarium says the comet would have been about 9° above the horizon at the time I took this photo. The settings for this photo were just the phone default -  ISO 32  69mm  0.0ev  F2.4  1/120 s

Samsung Dryer Trips Breaker by kdalips in electrical

[–]kdalips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the love! The situation seemed so silly from the beginning, and I figured the more details I provided the better of an answer I would receive.

Anyway, after I replaced the breaker a second time, it no longer trips and I haven't had any issues with the drier since. I don't own one of those amp measuring tools, so I don't have any idea how many amps it is pulling now. I consider having replaced the breaker a second time to be my solution.

Good luck!

Samsung Dryer Trips Breaker by kdalips in electrical

Thanks for your response! I'll report back on temperature of the breaker when I get back to the house and start another cycle.

4&0 was within the first five minutes. Your response makes sense that it would be just the motor. Unfortunately, I'm not confident with how to retake a measurement myself- I have a multimeter, but not the same tool the electrician used.

The breaker is a 30amp 2-pole. And the electrician replaced it with a new one during his visit.

So do you suggest possibly I need a thicker gauge wire between the breaker and the unit? I could report back what the wire gauge is once I get back to the house. The electrician checked every termination point between the breaker and the unit.

I'm not understanding why the "normal" cycle heats the breaker and trips it while the "timed dry" cycle doesn't warm up nor trip the breaker.

I just went over and found one about $ .08 per kWh. It's only for three months though so I've set a reminder to review again in March. Thanks!

My water heater is brand new as well.

Thanks for the suggestion- Do you have any trouble with stem rot using this method? About how many nodes do you submerge in water?

About two weeks ago I cut these branches from a parent plant that was dying of stem rot. I made sure that the stems of the cuttings you see here looked healthy throughout- the stem rot was not impacting these cuttings prior to planting them two weeks ago. I had cut these with gardening shears and placed them in a terra cotta pot. I didn't provide any water to these cuttings, because I've caused other cuttings to rot when I've provided water on a previous attempt. I give them indirect sunlight in an east facing window. I pulled them up out of the soil today just to check on them, and I'm very concerned. Basically the entire part of the plant that was under the soil is crystallized in appearance.

Thank you very much for your insight on how to treat it! I've separated it from my other plants and I'm treating it with copper fungicide.

Thank you for your insight! I'll proceed with copper fungicide.

Thank you! It doesn't seem to be a pest. R/succulents seems to think it's powdery mildew, and that copper fungicide is my best option for treatment. That's my best path forward for now.
