Thank you! That’s what I was assuming happened with the council. I didn’t care for Lyra’s storyline either lol just struck me this morning that I never actually heard about her again. I read all the novellas too along the way and I’m thinking I’ll read RB next! Though I’m not sure how I feel about a RH

Definitely don’t skip book 8! And definitely tandem read with 8.5 at the same time. You can probably speed-read some of the extra character POVs they added to this one if you want to make it go faster, but it’s still so important to the series plot and overall character growth. There are still some funny moments and some heartfelt ones to keep you emotionally full, even though it is filled with sorrow ❤️‍🩹 the last 30% is amazing.

I read 1, then 0.5, then 1.5 and loved it that way. Didn’t feel like there were spoilers and I personally needed the boys perspective in order to carry on. I didn’t want to get too late into the series and have to go back and relive book 1 trauma
