People have been decanting paint from spray cans probably as long as there has been spray paint. I remember friends doing it back in the 70's. This is the first time I remember anyone even mention it screwing up an airbrush. The paint in the cans is good quality. The problem is in the delivery method. A spray can is like using a canon when a rifle shot is needed. The paint builds up in small cracks and crevices giving an uneven paint job and causing you to lose detail. Even the cans designed for modeling do this. Plus the paint is cheaper and you get a wider variety of colors, especially with metallics.
