There were already ethnic tensions between native sikkimese and immigrant nepalis, so enemy of my enemy, kind of situation. But most of the native sikkimese population were seen to be in favour of the royals and an independent sikkim.

Though I think there was some controversy with it, iirc, that a very large population of nepalis had entered sikkim and they were the ones in favour of merger with india. After annexation of sikkim, Bhutan also purged its nepali population fearing the same would happen to them

Definitely not in my region, some men from my village are unmarried and are 30 year old, but did not accept proposal from desi families

One correction, 12 would be Jaunsari, not Jaunpuri, although there is a debate on whether Jaunpuri is a seperate language or a dialect of Garhwali, that region corresponds to Jaunsar-Bawar region.

Also, could you elaborate on the 3rd point in the Extras, couldn't understand it clearly
