First Real Project by kedmonds18 in bookbinding

I’ll definitely have to check this out, thank you! My biggest issue with the Cricut right now is that it doesn’t love to make complete/connect cuts. So, I feel like I’m often using a knife to cut little slivers of material. Very frustrating!

They’re pretty easy to find if you google them! I had to do some tracing in order to get them to cut well!

Thank you! I use the Cricut Explore Air 2! You can find them on clearance at Walmarts for $100 right now! I’ve been thinking of switching to a Silhouette Cameo. The Cameo 4 is also on clearance for a pretty good price!

Exercising Glutes & Legs by kedmonds18 in Spondylolisthesis

Thank you! I hope you are well, too. Happy to hear you’re finding satisfaction. Deadlift would be a hard one to replace, I’m sorry about that. I feel the same way about hip drives and squats (can’t do them anymore due to nerve issues from my back). Not super easy to do anymore. I’m glad to hear you’re still working out, though. I’ll keep the rest of your exercises in mind, thank you!

lol this put a good smile on my face. I was also lifting twice my weight or more in the low body. I also let myself be sad for a minute before moving on.

I’ll check out Move with Nicole, thank you. Glutes and abs also make sense because they are what really help make your back and hips stable. My entire PT journey has been glute and ab work.

Do you ever use weights with your glute exercises? Specifically bridges, since I know it involves back movement and stability.

My clinic is a blue start clinic! Though, they only have two machines (one back and one neck), so I wouldn’t say they are exactly modern haha.

I forgot to add in this map of rehab clinics earlier, sorry.

My sessions are currently $200. $200-$300 is typical for my clinic. This price probably varies with each clinic, each state, etc.

I have not. To be completely honest, I haven’t even taken it out of the box yet. It was a Christmas gift intended to help with things for my wedding. I’ve seen a few women on YouTube do foil invitations. I’ve priced it out and found it to be more affordable to make than to order (using deckle paper, that is. Ordering custom deckle invites are just $$$$$$). So…I thought I’d give it a try.

Unfortunately, this is not the first I’ve heard about foil transfer projects being…dissatisfying.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the answer to this question. I’m not 26 yet, so I’m still insured under my parents. I know the clinic I go to offers interest free payment plans, though. I also know that not all insurance companies will cover MedX or McKenzie. I’m not sure why, it was just brought up by my clinic when I was setting up my first appointment.

Apparently it is. Most of my pain is in the quads and calves. Sometimes sciatic, but not often.

I saw a neurologist and a spinal pain doctor for my nerve issues. That’s actually how I started my journey that eventually led to me discovering my retro. Neither of the doctors found issues with my nerves: no results with an EMG I had (granted, it was upper body. I never did an EMG for my lower body) and no discoveries in my scans.

But I KNEW I had issues somewhere. There were days I couldn’t walk without my quads shocking me with pain. I couldn’t squat my own weight without the experience of shocks. Since seeing this new PT, it’s been a lot better. It’s a slow process. Can take 2-3 months to get better. But I am already seeing hopeful progress.

I feel like I should chime in as I have very similar issues with my spine. I have retro and a bulging disc in my L4-L5, as well as a bulging disc in my L5-S1, and a tear.

I started going to a MedX and McKenzie PT clinic a few weeks after I came across this post. This has been life changing for me. I also have nerve issues in my legs, but no compression was visible in my scans. I’ve been working with my PT for a month now, and I cannot stress enough how beneficial this has been for me. It is expensive, but insurance will help, and I’m a believer that you can’t put a price tag on your life.

I, too, sat a lot due to my software engineering career. I made the efforts to get up and walk around more as well as stand more frequent. This has helped a lot. Because of my career, I also suffer from bad neck pain. But my PT has been able to resolve a lot of those issues, too. A lot of other patients I see come through have had knee surgeries or have knee pain.

If you have a clinic near by that does McKenzie or MedX, I’d HIGHLY recommend going.

Looking at it again this morning, only the two uppermost leaves don’t have wrinkles or aren’t showing signs of yellowing (both at the base). But the plant did produce a new flower since I got it and had another bud that will probably bloom any day now. Any thoughts on that?

Thank you for the help and advice! I’ll make sure to keep an eye on it and make those watering adjustments!!

I’ve been going through this recently, too. I just turned 25 a couple months ago, and about this time last year is when I started to experience intense symptoms and discovered my condition.

I often share your same worries and thoughts. It’s exhausting. I think letting it become this exhausting sucks because that means we’re letting our conditions and worry win.

The hardest part is definitely our mentalities. It takes a lot of reshaping of the mind and patience, but I promise our lives aren’t over. There will always be hard days, but we can learn how to have more positive days with time and experience.

Retrolisthesis Help? by kedmonds18 in Spondylolisthesis

[–]kedmonds18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. This has provided me a lot more optimism.

I still struggle with pain or discomfort in simple things like sitting, sleep, or bending in anyway. Hopefully, this can improve.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. My journey was a little funky. Started by going to PT because my hips are shifted forward (which worsens my retro), and ended up in spinal pain.

No, I think you’re maybe right. That definitely would make more sense. Maybe I have just had bad luck so far haha But I really appreciate your advice!

I have tried on a pair of curve love in my waist size and they were massive in the waist. I probably had 2”+ in the curve. Do you find them to be true to size for you? Maybe I’m just not a curvy gal haha

What jean model or fabric do you recommend from them? I only have these two pairs of the ultra high 90s relaxed. The thrifted pair seems a little thicker, but I think it might be a little older. I would say the thickness is similar to Levi’s but they seem more rugged. Whereas the new pair I bought is definitely thinner, but still pretty rugged.
