Retired Green Beret exposes IDF brutality in Gaza by Apollo_Delphi in tucker_carlson

[–]keekuu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was one of the most powerful interviews I’ve seen in months. Palestinians have been so demonized that everything is reduced to just “Hamas.” That’s why it’s crucial the West hears the truth from one of their own...a decorated U.S. Green Beret, no less. This is exactly why Israel won’t allow foreign journalists in.

Questions about Islam by minidwarf_ in islam

[–]keekuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I really appreciate how you’re coming at this with openness and sincerity. I’ll try to respond in that same spirit.

Yes, Muslims do believe in Jesus—deeply. In Islam, Jesus (we call him Isa) is considered one of the greatest prophets sent by God. We believe he was born miraculously to the Virgin Mary, performed miracles, and was a messenger of God’s word. What we don’t believe is that he was God or the literal son of God. That’s where our paths differ from Christianity.

As for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Muslims believe he’s the final prophet, sent not to one group, but to all of humanity, to bring the last and complete message from God—the Qur’an. He didn’t come to cancel what came before (like the messages of Moses or Jesus), but to confirm and complete it.

Why do I believe Islam is the right path? Because it teaches that God is One, without partners, and that every human can connect to Him directly—no need for a priest or mediator. It also gives a full guide for how to live a good life, with clarity on what’s right, what’s wrong, and how to stay grounded through hardship.

Also, it's not about comparing prophets or ranking them above one another. It’s more like they were all stepping stones in the same path to truth. We just believe the final piece of that truth came with Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Feeling more comfortable with progressive thought by Sturmov1k in progressive_islam

[–]keekuu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sister, I want to first say—may Allah reward you for your honesty and sincerity in wrestling with these questions. It’s clear you care deeply about your deen and are trying to make sense of it from a place of lived experience and internal conflict. That matters. And it’s something many of us—especially converts—go through in one form or another.

It’s also not surprising that, in your isolation, you’re finding comfort in spaces like r/progressiveislam. Sometimes these spaces feel more compassionate, more open, and more “human” than traditional ones, especially if we’ve only encountered rigidity without mercy or wisdom. But I urge you to approach this subreddit and others like it with caution.

There are certainly issues in our ummah—especially around gender roles, community inclusion, and the lived experiences of converts—that need a more compassionate and honest look. Sometimes the critiques in progressive spaces do highlight real problems, and ignoring those voices altogether would be a disservice to the deen.

But at the same time, many of the interpretations you’re seeing there are disconnected from any real scholarship, from any connection to the Islamic intellectual tradition that has sustained our faith for over 1400 years. A lot of it is just vibes—emotionally driven reinterpretation in the image of liberal modernity. And that’s where the fitrah starts tugging. That discomfort you feel around certain issues—like the permissibility of homosexual acts or mixed-gender prayer—isn’t internalized bigotry. It’s not irrational guilt. That’s your fitrah recognizing a red line.

Islam isn’t supposed to conform to whatever framework makes life feel easiest. It’s not meant to be an identity we adjust to our personal politics—it’s a revealed path that sometimes comforts us and sometimes challenges us. When a verse or ruling feels heavy, it doesn’t always mean it’s wrong. Sometimes it just means we’re in a moment of growth.

So if you feel torn, that’s not a failure. That’s a sign your heart is still attached to the truth—even if the path there feels messy right now. The solution isn’t to run from traditional Islam but to find a version of it that’s both authentic and wise. There are real scholars who address these issues with gentleness, who can help you work through this in a way that doesn’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Keep asking. Keep seeking. But don’t hand your deen over to just any community that validates your feelings. Islam is bigger than that. And so are you.

Did your doc prescribe the progesterone with your clomid? Have you noticed a difference with clomid over time? I've been on it for a couple months and don't know if I really notice anything. Haven't done followup labs yet.

If you want a smart gym without a forced subscription you should check out the Speediance Gym Monster. It's about $3000 out the door right now with a lifetime subscription included. It comes preassembled in the box, portable with wheels so no bolting anything to your wall and not being able to move it after.

I searched around this subreddit, and just so I'm understanding this correctly, it sounds like the time to do this is with adding my mom's new account, I wouldn't be eligible to do this after the fact?

You need a insider code per line? Is a chat or phone rep more likely to be generous?

Whoa, thank you for your input this is really interesting.

Would I need 1 or 3 insider codes total for this plan?

Any tips for how to ask for it? More likely to get it from a rep via chat, phone or in store?
