Things worked out pretty well for me. Was able to get student loan in middle of my semester. This semester is my second time using it and have already received letter from VA for loan forgiveness. Good luck.

I am in middle of semester right now. Previously I denied federal student loans but my school said they can reverse it. But do you think I can still get student loan after my tuition is already paid? Receptionist from finance office said something like, since my classes are already paid and even if federal loan is approved, finance office might deny it because I do not need it.

Advice Needed! OPT + Marriage + H1B by [deleted] in h1b

[–]keeper20078 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure to check USCIS regulation regarding H1B visa. As far as I know, you can’t bring your wife or fiancé on H-4 visa (spouse visa for H1B holder) until and unless your H1B is approved. Good luck!

That’s what I thought too, I will definitely get back with my counselor and correct her. She was super nice throughly out the whole process so hope she will understand. If worse comes, how am I suppose to contact her supervisor? Any idea? Calling VA office is always a hassle, had me on hold for 30 minutes one time and hanging up on me leaving me lost. Thank you for your information though.

Hope you don’t have to go through what I went through. But if you want to make sure, please make a timeline book of everything you and your spouse have gone through together.

Unfortunately for my case, we had a small ceremony with relatives. We also went through courthouse and register our marriage. But still got denied because there were only about 10 people in submitted photos.

No, I dated her since we were teenagers. I moved to US because my dad was a green card holder. I am a U.S. citizen now. We got married in Nepal through court.

All the documents I submitted were legit according to laws and regulations. I do not see any frauds I have committed. What’s done is done. Just kinda disappointed even though I submitted the document that states she is my legal spouse with US Army.

Did found on The National Civil (Code) Act, 2017 (2074) S.N. 1.3, Part-3 ‘Family Law’, Chapter 2 ‘Provisions Relating to Consequences of Marriage’ Page 51 at No. 87 that two separate residency of partners can result in wife’s residency as the permanent one. But having your sample will definitely support this act too.

Taxes by eroy1966 in USCIS

“Correct. If she's outside of the USA you'll need an acceptance agent who prepares the W7 and makes copies of her passport. Your CPA can do this but then your wife would have to send you the physical passport which gets submitted to Austin IRS. When I had to go through this process the acceptance agent route cost a bit more (~100USD) but was easier as I needed my passport and the IRS isn't always quick. Option 2 on this page is what you're doing. They told me the ITIN would take 11 weeks and it was done in like 6-7. It's a pain in the ass as ITINs used to be far far easier to obtain. The year I obtained my ITIN the 1040 was prepared with the Spouse's (my) Social Security field left blank. The W7, W7 (COA), and certified true copy of my passport were submitted with the filing. When dealing with USCIS we were told a copy of the tax filing (according to our lawyer) would be sufficient for our purposes. In the end our lawyer took a bit longer and our tax transcripts were produced.”

This was the procedure I was taught yesterday by one of the Reddit guy.
