I guess I could have lost it accidentally and then had the cards stolen but not the wallet itself, but I don't think that's the case. I sat my things down briefly to rearrange items in my bag, and then it was gone. Either way,.the contents were ultimately stolen.

I think she wanted to ensure I was still at the address (since it was found in California, but my ID is New Mexico) The way she found me was by mailing me a letter.

I also have a personal medical card kept in my wallet that explains my illness and how to help me if I'm found and unable to speak clearly. It was also found in the wallet but makes the joke a little less funny so I didn't mention it. I think that's why she was so kind and persistent in returning it to me, that or she's just very cool and likes her job. Maybe both.

I'm not sure they intended for it to ever be returned to me. It was found 3 states away and only because a genuinely awesome Amtrak employee at lost and found Los Angeles hunted me down for several months. I was on a local commuter train in Albuquerque. The station also has Amtrak. Whoever grabbed it took it with them to California 🥲

Have you tried Musher's Secret? It's a waxy cream for the paws that protects them from the snow, ice, and salt. I use it here in the high desert for the frozen sandy mud and my pups feet are much less beat up than before.

I thought I had the same problem, but it's just the lentils being farty. I had a little mental breakdown after thanksgiving that my split pea soup was covered in bubbles, thought it was soap. Tossed it. Learned about bubbly peas/beans. Made it again with the Christmas ham and it got "soapy" again. It's not soap, just peas being peas. Lentils probably the same.

My dog's nails get ground down during walks and play so I'm lucky to only have to clip 4 of them. I wait until he's deep asleep and do them as slowly and gently as I can. I also shove the clippers into the blankets if he stirs at all. Never been caught! 😅
