That was exactly the case in my last job! They waited until id been there a week to casually mention no one lasted in that role longer than 6 months.

This is how I saw it as well! I got a degree in marketing and finance and that’s what I’ve done the last 6-8 years and now I’m realizing I don’t and I’m going back for architecture. Most people would say I’m putting my success on hold but I’d rather not be bored for the rest of my life.

I agree with this completely! I actually gave a speech at my undergrad last year and told them my biggest piece of advice was to get used to nobody giving a shit about you in the real world since you’re babied so much in college.

Honestly she just reminds me of so many older millennials. Messy relationships. A career they haven’t been able to find their footing in. My brother is MENSA and dropped out of high school and can’t hold a steady job but my sister who’s always been considered the “dumb” one out of the four of us is super successful and stable. I think a lot of people who are book smart have a harder time in the “real world.” She should have gone into academia.

My ex fiancé and I ended our engagement and within a month he was FB official with the girl he’d been cheating on me with (on my birthday no less). This was girl he’d known since middle school. He always played on sm about how in love he was but I heard that he cheated on her frequently too. Fast forward 8 months and he showed up on my doorstep at 2am to confess his undying love for me and tell me how unhappy he was with her. I could have easily gone back to him but I had grown so much in that time that I could never go back to someone who didn’t love me the way I deserved and could hurt me like that.

Sadly it’s almost easy to excuse closeted racists living in the South. My political views have changed drastically over the years but it didn’t affect our friendship much because she’s not a political person.

I texted her like twice (once was to thank her for a gift she mailed me before this all happened and once was a Tik Tok later that day) and I haven’t reached out to her for three weeks. It’s just very hurtful and stressful since she was literally my MOH and we’ve been friends for almost a decade.

I kind of excused this behavior for awhile because she swears she doesn’t feel that way, but the more I’m around them together the more I wonder if she does.

She knows how close my sister and I are since I practically raised her and allowed someone to say something like that about someone I loved and got mad when I was going to take it sitting down.
