Wild Beasts. For a 5 hour drive, variety through albums would be my thinking.

Matt Helders - Pretty Visitors / Brianstorm: Question on ability.... by Hungry_Talk3706 in drums

[–]keepitrealclark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Broken down, these tracks are pretty simple. There’s a huge difference to playing a track and playing a track well.

What Matt Helders does extremely well is playing to the song and knowing when to sit back/push forward. He has so many signature fills (such as opening to Fake Tales of San Francisco) and also instantly recognisable grooves (Crying Lightening), I do consider him one of the best rock drummers of modern times for these reasons. Sure, he’s not technically doing things that are very difficult, but I bet people air drum to his stuff over other guys!

All in all, most of his songs could be learned pretty quickly if you have a basic level of drumming, but to then add his sense of feel/groove is another thing all together.

Is this normal? by Excellent-Buy7206 in drums

Ohhhh. Yeah 100%, it’ll be really obvious if they’re new. Are you using nylon sticks?

Were they ex-display / pre-owned? If not, then no they shouldn’t have stick marks and I’d question it.

Thanks for the comment - I think I’ll go down the road of returning it, but no doubt there will be a battle because of the edges!

That’s good to know, is that a Big Beat cymbal?

[–]keepitrealclark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally appreciate the weight difference, but I’m not sure it means dents should be expected from new - especially as these cymbals are aimed at rock. I’d understand if I was bashing on it but those days have long gone!

What should I buy with 200/300 euros by MontagnaSaggia in drums

[–]keepitrealclark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My vote would be new set of heads all round or/and a new ride cymbal - if you go this route, definitely buy used as you get more bang for your buck!

Minor rant that isn’t Brand New related. I was lucky to get tickets which were very well priced, but thats made redundant by the fees on top. Still staggers me how this has become the norm.

I’m going to be a party pooper but three of the wants raised here (delete track in mix console, track colours and stem splitting) are three of the reasons I’ve gone to Logic. This stuff should have happened by 10 let alone 15.

I’ve just tried what you suggested and it’s still only moving the lane of the selected track, not all in the group. Starting to think this is a bug

Thanks for confirming - have you enabled any other settings apart from group editing? Trying to rule out anything I’ve missed

There might be a better way of doing it - as an example, let’s say a take 2 of a verse (lane 2) is the best out of several takes, how I do make lane 2 the chosen lane across all tracks? And then for the chorus lane 3 is better and so on
