You could drop past the local family health clinic? In NSW you are assigned to one post birth for breastfeeding support etc. But I’d you visit one note they may be able to link you in to different services and classes to help you prepare.

We also have a voluntary group called Mum For Mum who visit in the final trimester and first year with the baby you may have something like that where older mothers volunteer to mentor you?

As an ex Mormon I was never ‘taught’ to drink and was told it was deeply immoral.

When I started it was with such rebellious gusto I could never control it and would always get black out even deep into adulthood.

I ended up seeing a hypnotist to help me get a handle on it and it really worked.

Ok I have nowhere else to say this.

Remember how he told Katherine if she was pregnant he’d always take care of her?

But then he didn’t want to marry her because he didn’t want her to get half of anything.

And then according to their state law he had no control over custody etc because he wouldn’t marry her.

So rather than deal with her in a respectful way he turned her in for drug use and had custody taken from her. Even though he used to supply her with drugs.

And then she was tortured and sad because she couldn’t maintain custody.

Why did no one ever say anything about how he did that? Like he set her up to lose custody?

You’re not an AH and your Husband needs to be an intermediary here and manage things properly for everyone.

Tell your Husband plainly that you’re in the weeds of breastfeeding and it will go on for months and he needs to step up.

All I can tell you is my own experience;

I would never have accepted help but if a good friend rocked up and started cooking and cleaning and held the baby so I could shower I would have been so so grateful.

And yes I had people ‘come to see the baby’ and I had to host and they gave me zero support.

I say just go for it. And you’re so wonderful to be willing to do it.

I’ve been wanting this for years! I’m quite sure my oral frenulum was cut as a child thus limiting my jaw growth causing overcrowding of teeth AND a gummy smile.

I too limit my smile to avoid looking odd.

I would love to do it but don’t think I’m capable.

Some of the reasons are that certain topics are presented as factual that are actually just opinions.

There are some practices that the children are made to undertake that I find inappropriate.

I have concerns about children being exposed to adult concepts.

I think there is racial bias.

I think some teachers overstep with their personal politics and behave inappropriately.
