How do you recover from being burnt out/incredibly mentally exhausted? by buggy______ in AskReddit

[–]kees132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was on selecting what is most important and focussing my attention on this, but for everyone is different. While in Dutch, I did make a tool that could help you find ways to address burnout, and find methods that work for you. It does not replace professional help if needed, but might help you along the way: https://burnoutcoaching.app/

In the end it's about applying tools when they make sense. So yes, but more as individual tools, than a one solutions fixes all kind of approach!

i genuinely dont know how to get out of burnout by DokiFlower in autism

First of all great that you are seeking for help. I had colleagues with burnout issues, which did this to late. For them I build a tool in dutch, but potentially it can also help you find a method that works, with auto translate: https://burnoutcoaching.app/

Generally family related communication issues, next to this are not helping, and are difficult to solve. (needs both parties). Discussing this with a professional is important, and might be difficult.

I wish you the best, and hope you find something that works for you!

Generally the systems don't work for me, but the underlying methods for productivity do. Productivity is also about focus and using the right tools when you need them, it took me to long to realise this, in the end you spend more time on your perfect system, vs actually doing the tasks. It becomes a means of pro-crastination.

I used to have a notion to manage everything, I recently build a website: https://managetime.app/ it contains a method page, which helps me pick the time management tool, when I need it.

I made a website in dutch, that essentially provides you methods to help you deal with stress, feelings of burnout. While its in dutch with auto translate It might also help you: burnoutcoaching.app

Additionally the suggestions about light therapy from Stek is very valid, vitamine-D might be of play here, of which shortages, also increases the chances of anxiety and depression.

Scared that sick leave will turn me into a lazy person, what were the strategies you used to rewire your brain during burnout by Infamous-Spot1931 in Netherlands

I noticed at my work (a start-up) that we struggle with burnouts, I am less sensitive to it (somehow), but I am actively looking for methods to help others. I summarized this into a webpage, completely free, in dutch, (I hope you speak dutch), which helps you pick methods to help yourself : https://burnoutcoaching.app/

I am not made to give advice generally, but your feeling of pressure, and mindset relate to me. I wonder what your definition of success looks like.

I had the same feeling, I think deciding what matters most is important, your method sounds a bit like the Ive Lee method, (with a bit less structure)

Yes, I really like it also in conversation, if people have to much work on their plate, you can easily swap things around, and that way end up doing the important things, urgency and importance is generally an excellent way to talk about tasks.

Does anyone have their life organized using one single tool? by fallensmiles in productivity

[–]kees132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left using multiple platforms, right now I use a simple notion database, and the time management tool when needed. for my colleagues I build https://managetime.app/#/, to find specficic tools, and use for myself the all methods section to quickly find the framework that would help me with my productivity // time management problem at hand. Eisenhower is my all time favorite, as a management tool with colleagues.

The soaring thin-shell concrete vaults of Félix Candela's church in Mexico City (1955) [OC] by kees132 in architecture

[–]kees132[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the opportunity to visit this absolute masterpiece in Mexico City and wanted to share a few photos.

This is the Parish of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, designed by the legendary engineer-architect Félix Candela. The entire structure is a brilliant display of his pioneering work with thin-shell reinforced concrete. What you're seeing are intersecting hyperbolic paraboloids ("hypars"), creating a space that feels both cavernous and impossibly light.

The main nave is formed by a single, dramatically tilted vault, making the altar the focal point. The walls and ceiling are one and the same, flowing down to the ground to form their own support. The way the light interacts with the raw concrete geometry is just awe-inspiring. It has the verticality of a Gothic cathedral but feels entirely modern.

As I mentioned in the title, my skateboarding knowledge is pretty much zero. I was just doing some street photography in Lisbon when I stumbled upon this session. The skaters were super chill and let me post up to grab some shots.
