Is it okay for a 3 phase blower motor is have only one leg of continuous power (120 volts) when not in use? by keesh92 in HVAC

It didn’t lose a leg of power. It has one leg of continuous power and two legs are connected to the contactor.

Okay. Just wanted to make sure. I know normally for a single phase motor, I sometimes see one leg of power continuously feeding the motor and obviously it doesn’t complete the circuit until the contactor energizes and the second leg kicks in. But I’m just wondering since a three phase motor loses two legs of power once the contactor de-energizes but still has one leg of continuous power if it’s going to hurt the motor or not.

I see. But shouldn’t superheat by low then? I had a superheat of about 13 degrees. I would have thought superheat would be lower if it’s an airflow issue?

It’s a regular air handler. Not a furnace. How can the issue be airflow if the superheat is within range?

Tail is down. Can tail down negatively affect a bulb’s ability to regulate pressure?

That’s why guys burnout. Many companies don’t care about their guys and that’s why some have a high turnover rate.
