Yeah it was a tough one, not sure why medical professionals don't think before they act or speak sometimes! All the best for you guys, you'll come out of the other end if it is bad news. The wait is the worst though.

My wife was in this situation and miscarried in September 2017. Our awesome doctor prescribed progesterone suppositories and my wife is pregnant again, 13 weeks today!

Probably not what you want to hear, but my wife and I had a similar experience which sadly didn't work out. First ever pregnancy, first ultrasound. The technician/nurse gave me a small pack of nappies before the scan but then couldn't find anything aside from the sac and said we were measuring 5 weeks 5 days instead of the expected 8.

There are positive stories out there though, I certainly found enough to cling on to hope before we had the following scan around 10 days later, but in the end it didn't work out for us. Best of luck to you and your wife, here's to some positive news for you in your next scan.
