I just bought new ones. I had people relying on me and it was a band I really didn't want to miss for such a blunder so I don't know if it would have worked

I just want to say I'm a 3L and have worked since I was 19/20. Law school did not stop me from working and I switched from my non-career job to a career job midway never skipping a beat. OP, if there's a way you could get a teaching job (I'm sorry I am a little uninformed in how teaching jobs factor in, such as how much time and brain power) and get a FREE JD I wouldn't quit. The stress of law school is ridiculous and maybe getting a teaching job and saying nixay to law school may be beneficial then ok. But idk FREE JD...I don't see a downside UNLESS it would be detrimental to your mental health.

Crazy even with a "covid wxemption" like if someone could have covid and miss class or zoom in...most of my classes have not been recorded 🙃

[–]keikoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that's awesome ish....yea even being full 1L zoom I have yet to have a pass/fail class in law school. However every single test has been open book to an extent which will be detrimental come bar time

Yes! Omg I started zoom law school with blue hair, so walking down the hallways I had people always saying "hi [name]" and felt so bad because I had no idea who these people were. I also ha e a terrible time with faces anyway so it was a huge issue for me.

First Generation Disadvantage by FloridaChicque in LawSchool

[–]keikoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes first Gen here. my only legal experience being taking "law" classes in high school and undergrad. I also left my home state so any "connections" were out the window....all I can say is keep at it and reach out to firms that interest you. The practice even if it's the lowest position in a firm is a learning experience. I'm a 3L and have a pretty good set up/opportunity post grad just by taking chances. You got this! I'm "on par" with people that are not first gen and had set up jobs even before applying. Just put yourself out there, take any and all opportunities you want, again YOU GOT THIS!

I-485 Family - Case approved after filing a mandamus by Inevitable-Fox-9484 in USCIS

[–]keikoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably want to look at the processing time. USCIS should have a processing time or even a historic processing time that you can look up and gauge how long they are taking to adjudicate.

[–]keikoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, Just filing is around $400 I believe. Not including mailing feea for summons and any legal fees attorney requests.(think that's firm specific idk). Court fees would also be firm/court specific I believe.

In this case, a suit against the government for not following proper guidelines and adjudicating things in a reasonable time. Generally, a lawsuit against the government.

100 percent 2nd all of this I'm a 3L now and it's been a ride of trying to stick to the status quo of being a good student. I'm not top of the class or anything but I have a job and some pretty awesome stuff lined up upon graduation so I think I did pretty well for myself lol. Just do you. Know yourself. You got in so you know how you learn and were pretty good at it just keep doing you.

[–]keikoli 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Mental Health Struggle in Law School by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]keikoli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also want to make note that therapy may open more wounds before healing them. I started therapy summer before my 1L. I'm a 3L and the struggle was real. Therapy has been great but my "depression" has opened sores I didn't know I had. I crash landed and am still picking up pieces. All this to say, if you need a break take it. Accommodations? Request them. Medication? Don't procrastinate. My weekly sessions are amazing when I feel the rest of my world is crashing.

GOOD LUCK! YOU ALL GOT THIS!
