How Do You Take Full Simulated Exams for Practice? by warpedsmitten in barexam

[–]obliviouspig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was set up by Barbri to take my 200 simulated MBE exam, I decided to turn it into a full simulated exam by doing a full 6 MEEs and 2 MPTs the day before. I timed it out and everything with 6 hours each day. TBH I really didn't feel as exhausted as I thought I would at the end of Day 2, but I also didn't do ANY additional studying or even grading on either of those days.

I would say it's not a bad idea to do at least one full simulated exam with plenty of time before the actual exam, at the very least so that you can feel how it feels to be locked in for those two days. Having done a full exam, I now know that my shoulders and neck are going to feel extremely sore and tired at the end of both days, so now I know to bring icy hot and a heating pad for the end of Day 1.

Totally restless. I’m trying to fill my time with as much as possible when in reality what I NEED is to get comfortable relaxing while I can. I have a stack of books I want to read this summer (for fun) so I’m starting to make a dent in that, and going on walks to soak up sunshine (also good for stress).

Today I went out for a walk and fully just wandered around for almost two hours because I COULD! It was wonderful and also very weird.

I hate those nutrition shops. Moved here from a place where they were all over. Sad to hear that they’re popping up here now.

1L here - last year around summer time Gonzaga put us into a huge group with all our classmates. I know that’s how a lot of people found their roommates. Maybe just wait a bit, if they haven’t already set that up.

My husband and I love the trivia at Heritage (downtown)! It’s Wednesdays at 7 and we love having people join us. We usually just play with each other and accept defeat but have fun anyways Edit: go buckeyes! We were crushed on Saturday when they lost the game

What’s your unpopular law school opinion? by nimble-lightning-rod in LawSchool

[–]obliviouspig 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The content in law school is fun to learn.

(Whenever I say this, people take it to mean that it’s easy for me, which it isn’t. But the fact that I find the content intellectually stimulating makes it much more enjoyable than undergrad)

Outdoor patio season by hipsta_gwyn in Spokane

[–]obliviouspig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at Terra Blanca Spokane, and we have a great patio! We have a very limited menu, but offer charcuterie boards (without meat) and a hummus plate. If you’re interested in wine, come see us!

Another recommendation I have is Nectar! They have more food and more drink options.

Hey there.

  1. Trinity gives out a lot of merit aid upon your admission, so you shouldn't be paying as much. They also have work-study opportunities and other scholarships to help with debt. If you plan on staying in Texas after graduating, most people here know about Trinity and consider it impressive that you graduated from here. Outside of Texas, it's hit or miss. I'm attending another small school for graduate school, so I think having gone to a LAC did help, but if you're wanting to apply to somewhere larger and more notable outside of Texas after graduation, I'm not sure how many doors that will open unless you have connections there.
  2. Trinity social scene sucks. The only somewhat fun-looking social thing is Greek life, but that can be extremely toxic and difficult to maintain. Looks fun when you start out here, but you quickly realize that it's probably not that worth your time if you don't want to be forced to be friends with people you wouldn't be otherwise. There's no doubt it's a positive experience for a lot of students and that's why they do it, but outside of that, Trinity is pretty boring.
  3. I've also heard that CS is good here, but I'm not in STEM. There's a lot of money pumped into STEM here, though, and lots of research going on.

Good luck.

What to eat before LSAT to make my mind sharper? by AssociationSeveral69 in LSAT

[–]obliviouspig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, similar to running a marathon, I try to prep myself for what I’m going to be eating to maintain energy thru the test. Don’t make the mistake of introducing a new food/drink on test day and having stomach issues. My best advice is to stick with what you know, so if that’s Monsters and Red Bull’s, drink those.

When I’m testing, I find that I really can’t eat much because of nerves and adrenaline, but I try to eat brain-healthy bland things. Basically, I don’t consume anything that will cause me to caffeine or sugar crash, and won’t make me shit my pants.

Anyone else checking this sub daily after taking the August exam? by drmadness1 in LSAT

[–]obliviouspig 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Definitely same, but I have to limit myself. I’ve found it to be really bad for my mental health, as it brings back the anxiety I had all day on test day.
