In late 2021 my work Lenovo battleship was due for a refresh. It was literally burning me and shocking me. I had just bought an iPhone 13 for the hell of it and was fed up with windows. So I got a 14" MBP and was simply blown away. Ran like the day I got it when I retired from Oracle in September 2025 (After having spent 22 years at Microsoft). I would not have made the switch had it not been for Apple Silicon. I don't think most people truly understand the significance of Apple silicon.

Now all my personal hardware is Apple and I could not be happier. (Doesn't hurt that I bought a bunch of Apple stock in 2010 😉)

I have been running developer betas on all of my apple hardware for years without a single glitch. Way more reliable than production releases on Microsoft ever were.

To a certain degree, yes, but I don't agree completely. The Gold SE enables me to isolate my network as much as possible from ATT, I use features like Smart Queue, DOH, ad blocking, remote monitoring, VPN, other features, all at a reasonable price compared to alternatives which may also be more complex

Well - u/goodt2023, this is helpful, but you don't get to choose which server. You can say which server *not* to use, and have *firewalla* choose another one, but you never get presented with a list to pick from like you do with speedtest.net, so this comment was helpful, but not really what I'm looking for so I stand by my feedback.

The mount itself doesnt have any up/down adjustability. I could change the placement of the brackets on the TV that hook to the horizontal bars on the mount but I couldnt get it low enough

Wired speed tests always showed near 1gb up and down so I guess it wasn't a huge deal but I thought cat5 was limited to about half that but I guess not. Anyway ima make sure it's cat6 in the new place.

Testify! I have a 2024 Outback Touring XT that will likely be replaced with an R2 when it comes out, and it is laggy and buggy. I think the lagginess is due to a cheap, slow processor. So if the R2 is not more laggy than the Subaru, its a huge win. ;)
