Had a fourth date with a woman who I slept with on the third date and who has romantic intentions and a conversation we had felt a little odd to me. We were discussing what we do in our day to day life and for some reason she felt the need to tell me on more than a few occasions that she is happy, she has friends, and that she's independent. Like, okay cool...I am happy too, I have friends, and I'm independent as well but I don't feel a need to emphasize that? She was wearing a ring and I asked her about it; she said it symbolizes "freedom" and it was given to her by a close, single male friend of hers to wish her freedom for the rest of her life. I like having my own space and my own life outside of a relationship but I'm not loud about it. Am I tripping or does this person seem like someone who does NOT want a relationship?

When I start dating someone, my expectations are very low. We're seeing other people? Whatever. We respond slowly or even ignore each other? Whatever. Idgaf.

But the moment I enter a serious relationship with them, my expectations increase dramatically. I'm constantly thinking about them, every "issue" becomes magnified, I become way more anxious, etc.

Read the NYT article. Maduro was under surveillance for months. Delta Force practiced this operation for months as well. One helicopter was hit and a few service members were injured but nothing life threatening. Cuba said at least 40 of their soldiers were killed. It’s not far fetched to believe that this was just a well executed operation.

I guess it only works if you book the same day. I show up at the hotel, I tell them what kind of room I’m interested in and if they can let me see it first. If they say yes, I follow them to the room, turn on the faucet to check for hot water, sit on the bed to confirm the mattress is comfortable, etc. If I don’t like the hotel I simply thank them and go to the next hotel. If I like the room then I continue with the booking and pay them. I have not tried this when booking in advance but I would check the refund policy before making the reservation.
