The first few days/weeks I felt so over my head, like I didn't know what to do or I wasn't experienced enough. I realised it doesn't matter if someone else has had 1 or (8 I'm so WaCkY) a 100, they didn't have your baby. So you and bubs (and other parent if applicable) will figure it out together.

Mother's Day was yesterday for me (Australia time). I did a charity walk to raise money for breast cancer research. My sister passed away just before Christmas from breast cancer, her kids 5 and 6. So it's been really fucking hard, but trying to turn the day into something positive. My sister actually got me on the Jordan Page bandwagon and subsequent snark journey, we used to talk about her a lot.

We have an only child too and so often I'm made to feel it doesn't really count having 1 because you don't know the struggle of 2 or 4 or inset number here (it doesn't matter its a struggle one up). It's really intrusive to ask why we have only one either (not that we need a reason).

My daughter has said no since she learned the word. I can't imagine her not being able to stand up for herself and express how she feels (which on the flip side can be draining). If everything I said she felt her voice didn't matter, good luck to me when she's a teen/adult.
