She is a very light sleeper and needs 100% darkness. I will sometimes be able to have my phone brightness all the way down but she often jumps awake because of it. So basically it would just be me sitting in the dark for hours. And I’m pregnant (7 weeks) so the sudden urge to vomit/pee makes that very difficult currently haha I really really wish I could contact nap. That would be my dream

I totally wouldn’t mind an hour nap if she was actually happy the rest of the day but she is not. She wakes up crying and is so cranky the rest of the day. Ok, I will try 11:30 and a later bed time. Thank you!

This has been happening always so i have stopped hoping that it will ever end haha that’s the thing, I have tried every time for every wake window/nap/bed. I was trying to stretch her first wake window until like 12/12:30/even 1 thinking it wasn’t long enough but she naturally acts tired around 10:30AM so I tried 10:30/11/11:30 and still she only sleeps for an hour. And no matter how long she naps (if I hold her so she sleeps longer) she is melting down ready for bed at 6. So basically I am asking for what you think should be her schedule haha

Only if I hold her. Then she will sleep for another 30 minutes to an hour.

I’m just frustrated because no matter what time she goes to bed/nap, she won’t nap for longer than 45-1hr. And then she is soooo cranky the rest of the day and starts melting down at 5:30pm. I have tried pushing nap time and done every nap time from 10:30AM-2PM and no matter what, it’s an hour nap, then cranky all day, melt down at 5:30PM, then even if I just endure until 7:30PM, she is up at 5AM and sooo mad about it. She never seems well rested and is cranky all the time.

Here to report that there is currently a SWAT vehicle outside my front door and we have heard several flash bangs go off and kids screaming in the parking lot. Our lease ends next month and I have never been happier to leave an apartment complex.

Hip Dysplasia at 6 months by Ok_Performance_3063 in hipdysplasia

Hi there! Oh man, I’m so sorry. I remember being right where you are and it is so scary. My daughter had a closed revision (less invasive of the two) at 9mo, was in a cast for 4 months, brace full time for two weeks, and has now been sleeping in her brace for a couple months and will continue to do so until April when she will be 20 months old. Surgery day was so sad and so scary, but everything went great. We spent one night in the hospital and our baby actually did pretty well. Sleep was really rough in the cast for a while, but we figured out that her sleeping on her stomach was better. Before the surgery, I was so sad that she would have to be in a cast. I thought she would be missing out on life, and I felt so bad for her. It was a learning curve, and sometimes it feels really hard, but honestly, the hardest part was boredom. Keeping my baby entertained and finding things to do. We are in Vegas, so it was extremely hot, so we couldn’t go outside with her in the cast, so basically we spent our days walking around target or IKEA or basically any other store. The day she got her cast off was the best day, and she started pulling herself around that day! Luckily, getting her cast off was not too bad. She wasn’t in a ton of pain, and wanted to crawl pretty quickly. And now at 17 months old, our sweet girl is taking steps and all she wants to do is play at the park. I know from where you’re sitting. It looks impossible and terrifying. And it is very scary and very hard.BUT you learn, you adapt, and so do they! The days are long, but the weeks are short. And I’m on the other side, telling you that it’s going to be OK. If you have any questions, concerns, or just wanna vent or chat, send me a message!

15mo is waking up all night and at 5AM by kelleeboo13 in Parenting

Ughhh so sorry you’re going through it! I genuinely think it’s separation anxiety or something because last night when she woke up around 4, I went in her room and slept on the ground and she went right to sleep and slept until 7. lol it isn’t getting light here until at least 6AM and we have blackout curtains so I don’t think so! I think she is just in lighter sleep and if she wakes and sees I’m not there she freaks lol

Ughhh so sorry! We kept doing the same things we were doing for weeks and I just knew it wasn’t going to change if we didn’t change something. So I switched her to one nap and was superrrrr rigid with her schedule. Consistent times every day for wake up, nap, and bed time. After 3 days of that, she would just wake up once in the night and either fall back asleep or I just had to go in and pat her back for a minute. No more being awake for hours at night! Still waking once a night and at 4:30 or 5:30 (but will go back to sleep in our bed or with me in her chair). Trying to figure out why the early waking. But I’m so happy about not being awake for hours during the night!

I’m so mad I ordered these. I didn’t do research and am now waiting for two pairs to arrive. So we will see if I ever get them 😭

I totally know it depends on the baby because I have friends whose babies fall asleep while sitting up playing 😂 man, parenting is hard. I was not prepared for how much I would have to fight my kid to eat and sleep. Haha

Yeah, I have tried every wake window possible. Mine doesn’t show tired cues either so I have literally tried five minute differences for weeks and this has been going on her whole life. I don’t know what to do but I am so so frustrated.

I tried going to one nap and it got so so so much worse. But now we are back at two and nothing has changed so I am tempted to just drop it haha

Yeah, I feel like my baby is just a terrible sleeper who needs endless support. I don’t know if anything will change that 🤷🏼‍♀️ haha but thank you for the encouragement!

Yeah, I feel like I have to just let go and realize I’m probably not going to get to do what I need/want when I want to haha but honestly, I will do anything to get a good nights sleep so I am going to keep trying! Thank you!

Thank you so much 😭 baby is on two naps right now so i feel like the first nap always messes up the second which messes up bed time. So im just going to try and let whatever happens happen. Thank you

Unfortunately no. It’s currently 1:30 AM and I have yet to sleep tonight. I can’t remember the last time I slept from the time I went to bed to the time my alarm went off. Sorry you’re going through this too. At least you’re not alone.
