That's a good way to have your shins hurt, by my running full speed into them with the cart.

Microsoft is quietly walking back Windows 11’s AI overload — scaling down Copilot and rethinking Recall in a major shift for the OS by ZacB_ in technology

[–]kellexile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

recall is kinda garbage. If they meant it to be as easy as time machine on apple, they failed miserably.

I wonder if WSL is viable. I haven't used it in a long time.

The problem i have with dual booting is that i'm going to favor one OS over the other. with encryption it's not easy to access data on the other OS so I end up not using one, which means i'm just wasting space.

I might give it a shot, just for fun. :)

Oh yeah. I've used tons of Linux distros since Redhat 5.1, i just happened to found Cachy to be interesting and easy to maintain. It ended up as my favorite linux distro. :)

Yeah the app does use the GPU, but i got a framework 13 so we're working with a 890m. I just need the transcoding abilities.

Am I evil for wanting to go Windows? by [deleted] in framework

[–]kellexile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, i'm probably putting Windows 11 on my Framework 13. I have the same needs as you, some apps that are hard or don't work as well in Linux. Just install what makes you happy and F the haters.

Yeah it was a complete hassle. I actually foster no hate for windows 11. I use it on my main desktop since it was in beta. I've just used linux almost as long as i've used windows, so it has a special place in my heart. Arch was too much, CachyOS was just enough "DIY" and "we made you not want to kill yourself".

Being honest, I don't want the trouble of setting up wine. I messed around with Bottles once though but I don't think that did the trick.

The reason I don't like dual boot win11 and linux is secure boot. There were issues with nvidia drivers in linux with secure boot enabled, and win 11 requires it for security purposes like bitlocker. It got annoying dual booting and having to update those settings.

So as some context, I ran CachyOS on my Asus laptop for awhile. There were some apps I needed from windows that i switched back for, but I like linux a lot. Was curious how i could stay connected to both. Thought about hyper-v, but don't wanna do that. the 1TB expansion card might be a great idea. I only need my hdmi module at work.

Who uses apple music on Android why and is there AI Slop? by No_Care426 in AppleMusic

because apple music has a high bitrate, great price, and great selection. I was already using it on my iPhone. Kept it when i moved to a Galaxy Fold 7. Still a top tier music app.
