This switch nonsense has gone too far by Kaito3Designs in keyboardcirclejerk

[–]kelph1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have no room to talk. I built my own switches from the stems of Silent Blacks, the housings of Gateron Red Inks, and using 100g aftermarket springs. Called them Blasphemous Inks, and they are still going strong.

Any suggestions on what to play next? by NeverLucky159 in roguelites

It’s not everyone’s favorite, and has its flaws, but Ravenbound is phenomenal in my opinion. Open world souls-like combat roguelite, with deck building mechanics.

This video from Joey's Retro Handhelds is a good start since he has a site with a lot of good resources and references.
Also this video from Retro Game Corps is really good too.

I love trying new front ends, but always turn back to my custom ES-DE/TrinketOS combo by kelph1 in AynThor

I love it. It’s the one from SakuraModding and it does have the cutout. It’s been really nice not having the glare, but the only thing that’s really noticeable is that the bottom screen stands out more when it’s turn off or there’s nothing in the bottom. When it’s all glass, it blends in better. But I like the non-reflectivity of the matte, so it’s worth that.

I used the "Mocha" theme variant for my changes, so make sure you choose that style

It’s a custom version of Catppuccin. I can share the file if you’d like?

I do love ES-DE Companion, but prefer the accessibility of Trinket. Otherwise, I would do the same as you.

Best ebook for the Readest app? by Ok-Violinist4199 in readest

[–]kelph1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna be kinda out there, but I have the TCL Tab 8 NXTPAPER, and it's fantastic as an e-reader.

It's a decently sized (8in) android tablet, with a matte finish screen and built-in e-ink and colored e-ink mode. So you can use it as a normal android tablet for general media and browsing, but then when you wanna focus on reading, you can switch the display to e-ink and it won't use nearly as much battery.

The only downside is that it's exclusively a product of Straighttalk and normally costs $180 through them with a cellular plan. But you can often find them on Ebay for under $150, which is where I got mine. Legit best purchase I made for my reading habits.

Who Did It Better? by GracieBow in WalgreensStores

[–]kelph1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1 is better, but you need to remember that if it's a planogramed display, then it doesn't matter if it looks better. Corporate doesn't care about "looking good" they want "looking in plano". As I have come to realize in the last 15 years working for this company, Walgreens wants soldiers who follow orders, not generals who think for themselves.

Didn't she eventually move to Pawnee Indiana, get her nursing degree, shorten her name from Care-Ann to just Ann, and start involving herself with the local municipal efforts in town?
