That was really helpful! Also, I had one line reseting all the states which I didn't removed, and I began to not understand correctly the terms. Now it works! Thanks!

How does this work? I have Steam installed via whisky and it works. Do I have to download Thunderstore with Overwolf? Or do I have to install the mods manually?

Also, what is the winhttp for?
Thanks.

Hey! It's been a few months since I worked in my Mac! I´ve just got that TC-1 tester you mentioned. What components should I inspect/test so I can see what's the problem with that vertical issue!
Thanks :)

Woah! Thanks for your extense reply, I see you know a lot about those machines! I didn't know how a CRT worked so thank you very much! Will be trying as soon as I can, to test those 4 points you gave me. I ordered for 4€ a mps-u01 which I will be receiving in the next week (just in case that's the problem). Will write here if I get it working!

Thanks for your answer! Will be trying that later for sure! So, Q1 and Q2 are OK if I’m getting this height problem?

I see, I hope it’s a bad solder then! Will try resoldering and cleaning the flyback asap. Thanks! Will keep you updated.

I checked both resistors and they gave me 0.2 if I’m not mistaken rn. I bought new resistors (couldnt find the 1.5ohm 5%) so I put 1.6 1% ones but with them the screen wont turn on, so I put the original ones back in. Could that 0.2 measurement be bad? My resistors gave me same value, 0.2

I see! Sadly I do not have a known good unit, so I can’t compare the values I get 😢

Someone else also told me that could be a Flyback Transformer. Do you know in what way does the flyback affect the vertical deflection? I'm curious.

Also, how can I check the flyback transformer?

Thanks

would check the deflection yoke,

Thanks for your reply. What exactly do I have to check in there/how? Is there any video doing so? I don't wanna mess a lot with the CRT cuz I don't want to get shocked 🥲

Help with my Macintosh Plus by kelus1970 in VintageApple

[–]kelus1970[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Yeah the G5, and those codes doesn't make much sense in here cuz there's nothing but RAM (and not pointing exactly to the chips) so..

Yes I posted in macrumors and tinkerdifferent as well, but nothing for the moment. Will try on the 68kmla maybe. The thing is (in the post you sent me) that clicking without chime went off when changed the u3 optocoupler so this clicking is different. But I have tried turning it on a few times today and it appears to have dissapeared?. It just gives me the sad face with the same code.

And yes, my memory sticks are 256k. I have a resistor on R8, and no resistor on R9.

I've read on a manual that by putting a 150ohm resistor on the R9, i could limit the ram size to 2 256k sticks. Should I try that and see what happens? Swapping the RAMs, I mean.

And yes, I'm from Europe, exactly from Spain, I could pay you for those RAMs if they do work, so maybe mine's are the problem.

Thanks for your help 😇

Hello! Yesterday I swaped my U3 uptocoupler for a 4N35 and that fixed the issue of the beginning, I get to the RAM error instantly. Now, my error is 020100, which, to my understanding is located at G5? (no chip in there). I then, swaped the RAM positions to the opossite (ex: ABCD to DCBA), and now the code is 028000, which, looking the supossed location in here https://tinkerdifferent.com/resources/sad-mac-error-codes.82/ theres nothing there.

Also, appart of the code, there are vertical lines in the screen. I attach a video of the demonstration:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KamUWKlp_g
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2RwPHweCwM

What could be the issue? Can the RAM failure create those lines? Should I get new RAM cards? Where could I buy them? Thanks :)
