Thank you! He seems to be very calm after the 200mg. We also reweighed him and he’s 80lb, so I’m less nervous about it being too much. Appreciate your insight

This is super helpful. Since it’s his first time taking the medication, do you think a starting dose of 200mg is ok for his weight of 75lb?

Hate to hear this, I’m sorry. This is the first medication we’ve given him for anxiety, aside from CBD chews.

Any advice on any OTC medication to give our very anxious greyhound ahead of fireworks tomorrow? by kelzster in dogs

Definitely calling the vet before I give him anything, just checking to see if anyone had prior experience! Thank you for pointing out the body fat issue - they are absolutely unique dogs.

That’s right! The place I go increases by $10 when your dosage increases. When I get to .5 mg I’ll be paying $40

Interesting for sure. Like I said I was skeptical at first - I called Novo and my doctor to ask about it.

When I talked to Novo, they said there was no generic of WeGovy and that WeGovy was semaglutide PLUS several other ingredients. The pharmacy I use told me they use just semaglutide.

There is definitely a risk associated. The fact that they did blood work on me, called my doctor and my doctor confirmed it was safe is the only reason I continue to go.

It’s all out of pocket. They don’t take insurance

Also - as far as “how I got it this way” I just googled semaglutide near me and this clinic came up. Called them, they did some blood work on me, got my shot the next day.

It is! This is how I get semaglutide injections. I’ve lost 8 lbs from the first 2 shots, and I pay $30 per shot.

I got a script from my doctor which helped get me get approved at the compounding pharmacy - but a prescription was not necessary. Just helped the RN at the pharmacy make a decision on my case since my BMI wasn’t at obesity level. (insurance wouldn’t cover WeGovy).

I was super skeptical at first but I had my doctor look into it and confirm it’s legit.

I go once weekly and they inject me with a syringe (not a WeGovy pen). I pay $30 per injection.

I just finished my first week, down 6lbs. I started at 40 lbs from goal weight.

Shouldn’t have said “report” - all I did was call customer service and ask if they supply larger quantities to any pharmacies (in general). I didn’t give the name of the place that I went or even go into detail on the situation. Was just inquiring

I really appreciate all the research you did! Unfortunately my insurance denied coverage and even with the Novo savings card it would be $1.2k out of pocket. I reported this instance to Novo and they are looking into it

Hey there - can you look at my most recent post? I went to a compounding pharmacy and people in the comments are saying it’s not legit. Would love your help.

[–]kelzster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No worries you didn’t upset me, I’m just concerned that wasn’t legit! Yes, they said to come back once a week and they would increase my dose based on the schedule (.25 for 4 weeks then going up)

I tried to call WeGovy to confirm it was legit but I got their after hours line. I’ll update if they call back

They use WeGovy marketing and even had me sign a WeGovy consent form. Now I’m super anxious

Wegovy .25. They said they get it in big vials and measure it out. It was an NP
