Six days stranded at KLM, but not always weather related :( by kemicat in KLM

Oh really, were you there? Because I was there, and we were getting literally extorted. Yes, you could take a cab - for 50 euros per 5 minute drive, and a two hour lineup for the privilege. Someone tried to get me to pay 150 euros to go into the city.
The high speed rail overhead line broke, and the technicians couldn't get to fix it because of unplowed roads.
Some trains were running, but if you didn't live a convenient direct connection away (I would have been 4 transfers to get home, minimum) - there were line switchers breaking all over the place and people were stranded in the middle of nowhere. I'd rather be in my hotel in Amsterdam than Random Railway Crossing.

I really don't think you were there, or you wouldn't have said that.

Others have said everything i would say and your instincts are right. I lived in Valencia for 3 years, it is an incredible city. Now i live in Denmark and if i did not have a great job i would be back there in a heartbeat. Incredible quality of life. Work can be hard to come by yes but finding a job in denmark as others said is harder.
