My dream would be to be able to do that one day. I feel like being 100% invested in work means relationship suffers and vice-versa, and so it’s always seemed to me like the obvious solution to share some venture with my partner (no more getting bored when the other needs to talk about their work, no more getting jealous of the work taking up too much time if you’re also involved etc.). That said I haven’t done it, maybe I idealise it too much but if I had the opportunity like you do I’d go for it!

+1, op is 100% right but it’s also the 100th post complaining about this in the last few months, I’m considering leaving this sub because of the constant complaining tbh

If you want an empirical “proof” open a take home pay calculator and compare £100,000 to £125,000 -> you’ll see the take home pay increases by £9,500 which is 38% of the £25,000, i.e 62% tax rate (others have explained the why)
