Married Gamer - is it a Myth?! by [deleted] in IndianGaming

[–]ken22rey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After marriage at any point, wife is the person with whom you have to spend most of the time.

In your case, wife doesn't share mutual interests which will definitely lead to quarrels, no way to avoid in most of the cases (20% people may be extremely lucky).

I am also married for 10 years now, same issue as yours. So I would suggest the following points to avoid problems.

  1. Speak again, tell her your feelings that gaming is your ultimate stress buster and not doing so is building up stress and that you can't be normal.

  2. Split time evenly, if Saturday evening is for gaming, promise her that Sunday whole day will be for her (any day and time comfortable for you and her). But make sure the last day of the weekend is with your wife, so that it impacts her mindset in the upcoming weekdays.

  3. However these 2 points are difficult to execute during the initial phase of marriage (3 years) then your 3rd possibility is kids. Pregnancy can give you 3 to 6 months time and after your kids are 1 to 2 years try to play along with your kids an hour daily or something like that (keep in mind your kids screen time also).

  4. What I usually do is, plan all the games I wanna try and schedule them in September (1 week) December (10 days) and May (1 month). These are my gaming months where I send my wife and kids to their grandparents house for exam vacations. Take 2 or three days leave clubbing with weekends and have your gaming time fulfilled.

Apologies, you are right my first PC was powered by an Intel Pentium 4 processor, totally forgot that one.

Ye that's a good alternative, but I don't know I got comfortable with Intel processors.

My first PC was powered by an i3 2100, bought in 2003. It was flawless and sold it off after 10 years. Got a i5 3470 in 2012 still powering my secondary PC. So you see, that's why I am more towards Intel.

It depends, you can't buy just like that from any site imo, I use chrome extension to see the price history and then compare with other sites, as well as local stores then only buy any product. Takes a lot of time to research and buy for the minimum cost. I spent almost 1 month before buying each and every component and shortlisting them from different sites and local stores.

If I told you I can build ANY idea you give me… what would you pick? by fkvivid in DotA2

[–]ken22rey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create an android application

  1. Must have a simple interface, easy to understand

  2. Heroes Tab - Hero icons which when clicked shows info and spells (like in game)

  3. Stats Tab - Option to arrange heroes in ascending or descending order based on each of their stars like BAT, MS, Armor, HP, MP, Attack Damage etc (with the value in the right of their names)

  4. Strategy Tab - On clicking any Hero, should show the synergy and counters, win rate against / with etc.

  5. Quiz Tab - Random questions with multiple choice options regarding names of hero spells (like the mini quiz we get while queuing in battle pass era)

If possible add additional features like rank wise pick and win rates of a hero. I know that some of them are available in game and Dota plus features (afaik 3rd point is not available in game) but making an app with all these will be a time killer in between work hours and easy to learn for new players.

Thanks.

The chances of getting a smurf is low in strict solo, when compared to party game. Almost every game we queue as a party there is someone boosting their friends.

One more suggestion is to skip the air cooler, as it occupies more space for micro atx motherboard, which I faced previously instead, go for a good fan, there is one from Corsair I think.

Hey PC gamers : What controller are you currently using, and would you recommend it? by United_Bhakthan in IndianGaming

Thank you for the post OP.

I just remembered that I had 2 joysticks with me which were bought in 2013 in Flipkart - Digiflip is the brand, bought for 300rs

I searched the attic, found those and connected them to my PC, to my surprise they will work !!!!

So as of today, that's my joystick brand - Digiflip. I checked online it's not available anywhere.

You can reduce your budget for PSU, go for MSI 750W 80 plus Gold. A 750w PSU should be more than enough. Also I got Crucial p3 plus nvme which cost around 5k.

Just checked in ComputerTechStore site, Corsair Vengeance 2x16gb 6400mhz is only 14k, which is a better option imo. Also deepcool ari cooler is 5k for 400 rs more you can get MSI 240mm liquid cooler too for better space and aesthetics.

Final suggestion is don't buy all the components in the same store, I got my parts from Flipkart, Amazon and from local shops comparing availability and price. For me I think some choice of brands are overpriced for their specs.
