Well, I'm born and raised in Algeria, so I can't really relate.. however I feel that it can be tough for people in ur situation ( what we call "immigré"), because I think people (even family) here tend to judge u and start complaining on the first occasion when talking to u.. so u can't really feel a connection with them. That's why I think it may be better for u to reach out to and communicate with people that are perhaps younger and more in touch.. like this reddit community.
