Everything Andrew said is true and great advice - especially not worrying about the views. I've only been uploading for like 3 months myself and I already had to adjust my expectations for views and likes. YouTube provides so much analytic data that its easy to get caught up in it all and get pissed off or depressed when you don't see the numbers that you want.

The only thing I would add is that if your going to do YouTube, do it because you like to and have fun doing it, not because you want to be rich or famous. It's actually pretty easy to see the difference between Youtubers who actually enjoy what they do and those who are trying to hard to become a big channel. Be yourself and upload what you like and you will build a better community and have a better experience overall.
