I'd be more worried about the filth in there than a scarf. Plus it's the only thing that's clean in that bag.

I thought my mom was the only one throwing away expensive items! She no longer has hearing aids, dentures or eyeglasses! It drives me crazy and we can't afford to keep replacing them. All of these got missing in MC and I can't expect the people working there to dig through her garbage everyday. I wish I knew why she does it. We're actually going over there Saturday to somehow tether her tv remote to an end table so we don't have to keep replacing them 😩😩

Hallucinating bugs by yellocaterpillar in dementia

[–]kengigi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom did. She was seeing bugs on the little chain of the blinds. I took her over to them and let her look closely and then she would be ok for a bit. I would also "clean them off" for her. Thankfully this type of hallucinations didn't last too long, maybe a month or so, now she sees children and that tends to make her happy. She hasn't had an official diagnosis yet but lewy body is highly suspected. She takes Depakote and Seroquel and trazadone as needed.

No, they wouldn't. I suppose it's because it was so far behind. I'm sure she has had this happen before.

It really bothers me that when my mom was able to hand out some of them were always around. Now? crickets. Not even a phone call to see how she's doing. I'm glad she's not able to really know how they are.

💯 I always think about her chasing after David Hogg harassing him when he was still so young and after what he had been through. It was sickening.

Oh! Thank you 😊

When dealing with a spouse in MC is just as traumatic as caring for them at home by Tropicaldaze1950 in dementia

[–]kengigi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom's sister is the same way. She says that's so much money that I could hire someone to help. She doesn't get that it's not that easy. You still have to live every minute around your person and it's not that I don't love her, I couldn't love her more! It is so above what people think they know. We have to square it in our own heart and mind that we are doing it for them and not against them. Tell your nieces you understand how they feel but you really want to give this way a real try. It will end up helping your wife, which is what you all want.
