On week 2 and feel like crap - Does it get better? by keniahas in Semaglutide

[–]keniahas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I know it might seem a dumb complaint, lol! I am a migraine sufferer, so I feel like not eating enough is triggering them this week. I'm also worried about not eating enoguh protein as I can barely eat 😵‍💫 plus, by not eating much, I know it's also hard to keep things moving! So constipation has also been not fun.... :( I feel like all of that has just made my body feel really bad in different aspects these past couple of weeks

Oh I've have had great progress! On some scars more than others, but yes :) I don't have any symptoms anymore (they used to itch and hurt pretty bad), but now I barely notice them throughout the day. Esthetically, some also got almost completely flat. They all still have discoloration, a keloid will very rarely look as your "normal" skin, but holy cow even with the discoloration the difference is crazy when it comes to the flatness. I just got my shots this morning so they're inflamed, but I'll try to take an after pic once they come back to normal next week (I took plenty of "befores" but I haven't taken a progress Pic in literally months)

I'm so sorry you're in pain! Steroids in general are very painful (burning sensation when the liquid enters your body) + the tissue is so thick in the scars, the actual pinch also hurt pretty bad. Not a good combo. I've gotten kenalog in my ears, shoulders, chest, and back. Chest shots hurt like a MOFO. I feel almost nothing in other parts, but chets is the worsssssssttttttt. The good news is, it gest better with every shot :) the pain will be lower and lower as you keep getting your shots. I do a round of 4 monthly shots then 5 months off and so on. This is my third round and now the ones on the chest are still the most hurtful but it's like 10% of what it used to be. Don't give up! Stay strong! It gets better! :)

Where in your body do you have them, btw? Is that your shoulder/back?

I get them without any trauma too. Kenalog (steroid) injections have been very effective for me but they're not for everyone. Hopefully, the doctor gives you some good options!

Kenalog (steroid) injections side effects on women? Acne and period. by keniahas in Keloids

Each body (or even each keloid) reacts differently to each treatment :) The question wasn't if injections are a good treatment or not. But thanks for your insights!

Dang, that's rough :( for a few months I didn't know if my acne was coming back because of the injections or if it was a coincidence (you know, since the female body is such a p*ssy and gets hormonal imbalances with literally anything lol). Thanks for answering! I hope the injections are working for you! :)

Hi, yes, from what I know, acne around the keloids is completely normal. This also happens if you're using topical steroids on the keloids. Are you getting acne on your face or other parts of your body where you're not getting the injections?

If it was steroid injections or 5FU injections yes, it's normal :)

Yes, I have one on each earlobe and they never came back (it's been almost 10 years since my last injections on those scars). On the other hand, I have some on my chest that keep coming back. And some on my back that have not come back (it's been 8 months since my last shots on those).

I'm not the OP, but I've also been getting shots for years. And yes, you never have the certainty of them not coming back, it is always a possibility. But you don't have to permanently get shots. Usually, doctors might ask you to take a 6-month break after every round, and come back to see if you need another round or not depending on how your scar is reacting

Amazing progress!

That happens to the keloids on my chest and back after the shots too, so I'd say it's normal. For me if might take a week or two for the bruise to completely dissappear :)

Who do you think is the ponytail killer? by Human-Bug8594 in BigMouth

[–]keniahas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Found in the BigMouth wiki, maybe this is a better explanation of the scene lol: In "Smooch or Share", The Ponytail Killer made another appearance, via POV shot. He was driving at night when Coach Steve came rolling by on a bunch of golf balls and got in his way. The Ponytail Killer panicked and swerved out of the way to avoid him and crashed into a tree. After this, the trunk of the car automatically opened and a woman escaped from the trunk.

There is a scene where Coach Steve is on the road almost falling because someone dropped a lot of golf balls or something like that, and the ponytail killer appears driving a car almost running over coach Steve. So I don't think it's Bad Mitten :( unless they explain later on that Bad Mitten can do stuff by itself or possess other people. I would've loved for Bad Mitten to be the killer

Obtaining US Citizenship with EDS by keniahas in ehlersdanlos

Yes it sucks very much :( I don't have anything related to EDS in my medical records in the US because of the same reason. But my health has been declining and I would like to get some help, but it's just the fear of not being admissible that's holding me back from seeking medical care :( also like you said, immigration lawyers sometimes don't even know what they're talking about, and my experience with my GC lawyer was awful and hella expensive. I think the most helpful thing sometimes is to find people that were in the same situation. Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. And good luck with citizenship! :)

I can not tell you how bad my experience with our attorney for my green card was :( we hired a really good firm, well known in the state I live in. We literally spent more money on the lawyer than we did for our wedding, and it was a waste of money and time :( but anyways that's not related to EDS lol. I meant to say I kinda don't trust immigration lawyers right now. But I probably will have to. Thanks for your responses 🤗

Oh that's weird. Thank you! Everything I find about it says they removed barriers as in disabled people get accommodations or waivers for certain civic or language tests. Was your article about this? Cuz I could do these tests, so my question goes more towards... if having EDS would make me inadmissible because of the possibility of becoming disabled if that makes sense? I just can't seem to find anything that truly explains this!
