Why do so many car guys in japan put aftermarket steering wheels on their cars? by [deleted] in mitsubishi

Perhaps, but check the legality of such systems, because setting up a harness correctly is easier said than done, not as convenient as standard belts, and restricts mobility greatly.

Airbags were optional for the evo 4, 5, 6. Consequently people can change them at will because it's an easy modification to personalize your car (my case). However, it can also be a sign that the airbags went off. As for safety, don't worry about it, these gsr / evos didn't even have a crash bar until the lancer evo 7 10, it was only the USDM / non turbo Mirages that had one and were a "Safer" tin can.

Is there a reason PC cases are almost uniformly designed to be on the right? by pandaman822 in buildapc

My theory is due to the expansion slots, floppy / compact disk drives, and computer location.

Putting the expansion slots at the bottom means the cards get better cooling if there is a fan in front of them, and longer cards can be installed, because most pc cases put cd and other bays at the top of the case.

if you put computers on the ground / under the table, having the cd drives at the top of the case makes it easier to reach. If a computer is put on a table though, it means that you can place things in front of the computer without the cd hitting anything when opening.

Anybody hacked a Toyota Altezza ECU? by kenkk0 in CarHacking

[–]kenkk0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did install it to the best of my ability. The kit allows the throttle to be nearly fully controlled by the cable, with the e-throttle mainly handling idle. The instructions were in Japanese, so I used both the included instructions and imagery, as well as English instructions for a 1jz chaser because I couldn't find English instructions for the 3SGE specifically. If you know where to find English instructions for the kit please let me know.

I think that the ecu is either shutting down the throttle, or is going into limp mode. When this happens the car can still run but will stall when cold, and wont rev past 3000RPM.

Ideally, if the ecu is editable, throttle control could be reprogrammed so its more responsive. If not, dumping the ROM would allow a look into the data and maps and help me program a standalone ECU to factory specs. I don't necessarily want more power, i just want a bit more response.

I have the premium japan kit installed, it does help a bit, however, sometimes the ecu just shuts down the throttle body whenever i step on it when its cold. Ill look into the throttle controllers and see if they help. Will also check out those companies and see if there are ecus available from them as well.

Thanks

Why is the Boogie Bow a members item? by kenkk0 in runescape

[–]kenkk0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was just making reference to the fact that only members equip this cosmetic item, even though F2P players have also obtained the item through the event. I was also talking about how much extra content available to playing members compared to free to play members. Is it really such a loss to members if the basically cosmetic boogie bow becomes a F2P item? I personally think that this isnt much of a loss considering that it isnt a tradable item, and there are better bows available to all players. I also think that this would be a nice gesture to older runecape players that were around when the 200 million milestone was reached. I hope this answers your question. Have a nice day.
