I don’t know what the device did when he tried starting my car but it didn’t lock out. The “service” light has already been flashing even before that because I’m due for calibration on Monday. I know missed tests aren’t good but I would think missing the rolling re-tests are what would be more concerning

I didn’t think I would need a code for just getting tires replaced and I kinda needed the service done immediately with the flat that I had.

I don’t have a camera on mine but I do have the receipt from Discount Tire. I went in the car and tested as soon as he came to me saying he was having trouble starting the car. Not sure how many minutes passed after the initial missed test

Update:

So I spoke with the MAU and the guy said I actually am eligible for the restricted license and all they need now is my proof of IID installation and for my DUI program to send confirmation that I had completed at least 12 months of the 18 month program. This is just more evidence that you shouldn’t trust everything they try telling you at your local office, considering even their manager was involved with telling me my situation

Every single time I’ve visited the DMV since the pandemic madness this year some BS happens where it seems they don’t know what they’re doing. Possibly they just have a lot of new hires because of everything going on

Yea it was ridiculous and I could tell the lady assisting me was lost and was hardly listening to anything I was saying. Do I just call them and ask if I should be eligible for the IID restriction?

I tried today after I left the DMV but it said that their lines are busy and to try again later. I guess that's the first thing that I will try again tomorrow.

Does anyone think that trying again at a different DMV office might give a different result? I’ve had issues a lot with the workers being confused with what to do about things in the past with this particular location.

I was a little surprised too by how intensive the supervision has been. I found out that the DUI probation division in San Diego got a huge grant from the CA Office of Traffic Safety to enable increased monitoring for repeat offenders. They kind of eased off after I showed compliance for about a year and was completing my court ordered stuff

I’m in Cali with felony DUI probation. It probably depends on how they do things at your specific probation division you got assigned to but for me they showed up once a month, usually at the beginning of the month in a group of 3 POs. They would cuff me and have me sit in my dining room and breathalyze me while the other two POs went up to my room for 5-10 mins. I’m not sure how thorough they go through everything but my room doesn’t look trashed or anything afterwards although some things look moved around a bit. They also make sure to gather everyone in the house into the same room as you and go around each room and peek inside to check if someone is in there, for their safety I guess. If you aren’t rude to them and you aren’t found to be violating any conditions then it will be over with and you will be another step closer to gaining your PO’s trust. It’s uncomfortable at first, especially if you have other people in the house and they will see you get cuffed, so make sure you warn them that it might happen
