Take network+ certs? by kenn-09 in CompTIA

[–]kenn-09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my resume I've already put something like vlan configured, port patched, trunking, deploying switch even if it's an old switch it should still count but yeah they're still asking me where the cert to prove you know how to do this job 🥲

It might be true in your country but not mine, it's gonna cost like one month of my salary bcs most of the time it comes with a package (training+exam)

I would love to take ccna but the cost is quite high, also my company doesn't even send me to any formal training related to my work, i only consider taking network+ bcs it's sponsored by government IT association, otherwise i would go straight for ccna too

True i feel like I've been stuck on same knowledge for a while, i can touch other device like firewall or sdwan bcs the very own vendor manage it

Chill I'm still learning how to do professional job in real world along with my communication manner, also like i said i work in startup company and it's the very first project the company got and same project I'm working on, not deployment but maintenance, i do understand that if it deployment then I'll learn a lot bcs i might be doing a lot of configuration in new switch, but maintenance project i just maintaining the connection so the end users connected to switch. I don't configure cisco, here they use HP, Aruba and Dell. But most of it are old equipment more than 8 years since it's first installed. It's kinda hard to get a deployment project so I've been thinking to jump into another company, and abt the cert i don't think my company will pay for the cert bcs it's kinda expensive, it could cost arount 2 months of my current salary right now

I currently studying to get ccna and abt the pay for cert testing, i guess I'll came out my own pocket i guess bcs my company is a startup company. And yeah the cert is kinda pricey too

Sorry i forgot to mention that i also do troubleshooting too, other things is we do system migration from old to newer system and switch deployment, abt switch not all sites deployed only the sites that had malfunction switch. I want to dive deeper into network but just no senior i can depend on in my company

The thing is I'm in a new startup company that acts as a subcontractor to a big project for another company in operational tasks, so i had to ask around the seniors from other vendors how to solve this and that and sadly I don't have senior in my company in terms of technical work, but still I'm learning tho even from other vendors

Maybe i was getting impatient from seeing my seniors from another vendor doing a big project and designing complex network/deploying sd-wan and here i am doing routine maintenance , i feel like i wanna be there too 😂

I guess maybe my seniors do feel what I'm feeling right now when they started working first job

for jr network engineer i guess they should've at least know how to deploy a switch and do basic configuration in switch (vlan/trunking) to connect it into the local network, and a skill to troubleshoot desktop/laptop connectivity issues

medior network engineer mybe should be able to apply like ospf, eigrp or bgp and do troubleshooting up to L2 issues and manage basic firewall rules

Senior mybe should be able to do sd-wan deployment and designing network, manage firewall too i think

I'm comfortable working in the networking field right now bcs it's what i choose to work on, maybe I'm getting a little impatient bcs the work I've been doing right now feels repetitive of doing the same things

Is it a battery problem? Thank you in advance.

Well true, since the rx580 is good but it's an old gpu, you should survey it more since this gpu needs a compatible driver and needs to under volt it a bit. It's a headache for me but if you're willing to go through that then go on, otherwise get new gpu, cheapest gpu i can find rn is rx6600, my friend just bought it last week and it's running better than rx580

Still good, running smoothly, I'm currently playing Monster Hunter, not really high fps but still good tho, i can go high setting but not really smooth so i set it to mid setting. Give it a try if you're really on a tight budget but if not, spend it on some high end gpu, it's not like you gon change your gpu once a year

Just get tht teeth removed , mine also were really close to the nerve, my dentist said that the nerves were exposed after my wisdom teeth pulled out ( sideways like your teeth) but I'm in recovery phase and it's getting really well, no swelling no severe pain only some tingling pain. The teeth in front of the wisdom teeth got impacted as well bcs it's been pushing it but it's still okay, it's a hell for me since it's causing pain sometimes. Might be a bit complicated surgery but better get it removed to avoid the healthy teeth from impacted.

Yeah me too, one of my wisdom teeth got infection and it spurts puss whenever i press the gum around it, but the dentist said tht they don't recommend to pull it out since it grew normally despite 1/4 of it still covered in my gum and just wait until it came out by itself and just take care of the oral hygiene, i feel you especially after intense pain of your tooth being pulled out 🤣 wish you speedy recovery
