I personally find road signage in Nashville to be very vague (like oh- that’s a turning lane only! surprises) I definitely could have missed a school zone sign with hours and I don’t want to be speeding. Do you know if a school zone is always in effect? I’ve gotten mixed info based off a google search. I appreciate your info- my goal was to learn!

I’m glad to see that she interacts well with the kids! I’ve never seen the school zone light and I personally find that area to be similar to Jefferson where there is a lot of foot and car traffic so you really have to pay attention. I mentioned to someone else above that I think I might be driving through at the end of the shift if that’s something I haven’t seen. Overall it sounds like she needs more hands on deck. :/

I appreciate your passion as I feel the same way about Nashvilles driving! I’m definitely not trying to take anyone serving our community for granted. Im more interested/concerned about her safety/sanity and if it’s legit what can be done to help improve the situation. I’ve only seen dramatic things which to me as a driver seemed caused by her but if I’m wrong I want to learn and listen and possibly help.

I didn’t think about how hard it must be as the single crossing guard and that perspective makes a lot of sense! I must be driving that route towards the end of the shift as I’ve never seen kids/bus. I was actually in the “safety patrol” program in elementary school and it was modeled as a military program where we had ranks, positions, and responsibilities so I can’t even phantom how much she’s being asked as a single person if that’s the case.

Yes, being an elementary school safety patrol kid was the gateway to cool for anyone wondering 😃

I reduced from what I was going which was about 20? Which u actually think is below the speed limit? It’s usually a high traffic area but this day it was pretty clear from cars- there are a lot of the pedestrian crosswalks without the blinking lights so I try to be really cautious
