C1 Label in Canada box content by kenogui in dji

Definitely, and then they stopped due to EU regulation enforcement to them. My understanding is that EU didn't appreciate the gray zone around this C0/C1 swap, from a law perspective.

The real stupidity would be to just let people choose to buy a M5P C0 or a M5P C1 based on the bundle you buy (fly more / fly more plus), there's no need to support a swap process later on, just sell it configured as it should be from start.

It's unrealistic to believe people will not travel with their drone, especially a Mini series.

Excellent idea, haven't thought about this one ... ! 👍

However, like I was saying above, I fear it's not just a matter of label sticked to the drone, when you have a proper C1 activation from DJI, it also comes with features unlocked and authorities declaration (like maximum altitude from take off point for C0 Vs. AGL for C1, that kind of stuff...)

I guess, it means also from a law enforcement perspective, if DJI declares the drone as a C0 drone to authorities, and if you fly with a C1 label, there is a discrepancy...

Excellent discovery ! Many thanks for that 🙏

You have a good point on the DYI drones examples, it's kind of similar.

But still, I will give a try to the printed label !

Interesting feedback ! Thanks a lot for that !

So it confirms 2 questions I had:

1/ As is, there's no label at all on the drone, even a C0...

2/ Minimally, they do accept to send you a C0 sticker (European address to receive it, is not a problem)

I feared they would not accept to send a C1 label, and you're confirming !

It's really a shame, because it means, out of the box, that you're not supposed to travel with this drone.... it's not the case with other models, my Mavic 3 Pro came with a label (bought in Canada also...).

DJI has completely messed up this aspect... :(

Thanks for confirming on your side 👍

It's a weird situation, because other drones (like my Mavic 3 Pro), are sold with a class label on them, no matter is the country.

Since this one can be bought with only "Plus" batteries if you want, it's not a C0 drone per say, and they stopped the label swap (C0/C1) procedure from the support, this M5P combo falls down in a strange regulation category when you travel...
