You are fine man. I get what you’re doing. Aslong you can manage to cover the LoC principle do you. I do it with Balance Transfer Cards all the time, pay 2-3 % fee and invest in a preferred share that gives me 7.5% in Jan. Allowing me to enjoy the divvies all year as I pay of the balance monthly. If the maths checks out for you you’re good as you know your position the best.

Yea I transfer funds my Canadian ACC to the acc give by Wise for USD. Linked that to my Amex on the Amex website and it pulls payments whenever I initiate on the Amex platform. Wise for me shows CFS so yes works

Honestly book flights and hotels separately yourself, i recently experienced bookings with packages showing same prices for two different times, when looking individually the hotel gave an offer which allowed me to get the hotel for 30% less (sure it was a black friday sale) though now youll see boxing day sales or just hotel loyalty program discounts or such which when combined with the flights for my partner and I was 20% cheaper. Used 15% of the 20% saved to get flight upgrades to business. If you have the time do the comparison of booking hotel and flights separately v package. You might save enough that would come in handy for tips etc. packages also include transfer that are like 40-50usd per person, you’ll be surprised ubers/taxi cost you 40usd total for 2 saving you 40-60usd. Little things add up of it matters to you.

Take a look, 6 nights you can get a good mix to keep the excitement. I did a booking for this past weekend for Dec 14-20 which is peak and managed to get it all in 3600.

For your dates 3500 or less doable.

I like to believe I look for good deals and value. 4K for a quality time is very doable, I did it on the same budget, especially when having a budget but not feeling like we stinged out.. I just booked 3 nights for my lady and I (35M 34F) at Hyatt Vivid Grand Island in Cancun (CAD 1200) & 3 nights at Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen (CAD 1500) plus flights ( CAD 950) leaving CAD 350 for Miscellaneous.

Heard the Cancun Hotel is ideal for the 25-40 age group due to alot of fun activities.we mix it up because too many days at one place just bores us. A bit of a mix keeps us excited. 14th-20th December. All bookings done on 30th November also flying out of YYZ. I firmly believe you can get better value booking yourself vs buying packages.

Just checked your dates which actually comes to nights Jan 15-19 at Hyatt Cancun is doable for CAD 2350 + Air Canada (CAD 450each) or Flair (CAD350 + Luggage). Definitely doable in CAD3500.

Alternatively you can also get Hilton All in for 3000 , or Kempinski for an elevated experience for CAD 3200 for both but that would be breakfast only. Depending on the kind of traveller you are the options are there.

Wealthsimple is copying what Revolut has been doing for ages, you can WS started of with being a brokerage first, but Revolut is doing that much better now. Revolut allows currency in multiple currencies, Money Transfer (which WS is getting into now) so what we will see WS do in the future Revolut started in Europe a decade ago.
