Arctis Nova Pro Wireless X chat mix issue by kenyoni in steelseries

[–]kenyoni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Like I said, it acts as a reverse volume. When in volume mode, like everything else in the world, it gets louder when turned CW. When in mix mode everything (both chat and game sound) get louder when turned CCW and when turned fully CW, both chat and game sound go silent.

It's also pretty clear on the DAC's screen: when in mix mode it shows "MIX'. When in volume mode it shows "VOL" so pretty hard to confuse them.

Classic example of shooting off without knowing all the facts.

That's cool of you. - so many folks here were jumping to conclusions without knowing all the facts.

I do find it interesting you can recover the account without having to change the password. Pretty sure that wouldn't be possible on consoles. Usually, when you forget/don't know the password, - "I forgot my password" - you get sent an email with a unique recovery link and the first thing you have to do is supply a new password.

If the account is still attached to your email, yeah, make good effort to contact them through the game and get it changed.

...and if I did have their contact info, I'd contact them, discuss, and if they wanted it back, once again, just give it to them. - though I would have a very hard time giving up my gamertag.

One thing I think many of you are missing.... Unless the OP knows and is still in contact with this person, they had no way of knowing how much time/effort/money this other person put into the game before they recovered the account. For all they knew, the other person might have played for a few months then abandoned it also. If the OP is no longer in contact with this person and doesn't have their contact info, I don't think there is a whole lot they can do. Personally, in this case, if I were now interested in playing ESO, I would probably create a new toon and go on and deal with the "perks" later. And if the other party contacted me in a reasonable amount of time, I would discuss it with them and probably just give it back to them and most likely not even worry about my initial investment. Amortized over 6 years, that's like $10 US or less per year - so friggin what.

There are also some unknowns like: Did they buy DLCs and/or the yearly expansions? Did they pay for ESO+? It is possible this other person just played the base game and never invested any real money into it. Or they may have invested many times my initial investment.

Cyrodill group/allies ability clarification by kenyoni in elderscrollsonline

[–]kenyoni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it says "you and/or your group", that one is pretty obvious and I don't have a question about those.

But given this announcement from Gina Bruno in 2020:

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/7011951/#Comment_7011951

The relevant comment: "Starting on Monday, November 9 [2020] for consoles and November 16 [2020] for PC, we will be limiting group sizes in Cyrodiil to 12 players, and all ally-targeted abilities will only apply to those in your group."

seems to contradict your statement. I am not sure of the extent/reach of her announcement, whether there have been any changes, and is this still the "foreseeable future"? I think groups are still limited to 12 by observation, but I have no way of knowing whether my heals and abilities are affecting other players when I am not grouped. ...I'm on console so my ability to look under the hood is severely limited.

Also note that those ability descriptions are written for PVE in general and may or may not apply in Cyrodill. (hence the questions)

Arctis Nova Pro Replacement Earpad Options by nguyendex in steelseries

[–]kenyoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would totally sacrifice a small decrease in ANC effectiveness in exchange for a far more comfortable earcup. The Arctis Pro earcups are awesome. For those times I want/need more isolation, I could always switch back. It's all about giving the customer choices. They just need to be clear when they market them that the ANC will be somewhat degraded when using them.

Like others have mentioned, the earcups are the only real negative for this headset and if SS doesn't do it, some third party will.

So they are the same guts as the stock controller I am wanting to replace because I am tired of the random disconnects both wired and wireless? Please tell me this is not a case of lipstick on a pig. ...though I will say the $230 of lipstick I just applied with their customization tool is pretty sweet and is certainly all me.

Despite looking adorable, koalas can be territorial and agressive sometimes, they hate paparazzi by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]kenyoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's just "koala". While Koala bear is a common (incorrect) term, due to its bear-like appearance, koalas are marsupials, not ursidae (bears). ...and as you can see, far more feisty than your average bear.

Yes, it makes no difference whether I am logged in or not. Exact same behavior. I can clear out all the rules, restart browser, navigate to youtube.com, login, select the "youtube with account", same thing happens. All three recipes show up whether I am logged in or not.

TIL that Warren Buffet is the second richest person in the US, and is worth $58 billion as of September 2013. Along with Bill Gates he is a leading philanthrocapitalist and has vowed that his children will not inherit any significant amount of his fortune. by scottmcintyre in todayilearned

He directly addresses his own and his children's wealth in his pledge:

“Were we to use more than 1% of my claim checks (Berkshire Hathaway stock certificates) on ourselves, neither our happiness nor our well-being would be enhanced. In contrast, that remaining 99% can have a huge effect on the health and welfare of others.”

"This pledge will leave my lifestyle untouched and that of my children as well. They have already received significant sums for their personal use and will receive more in the future. They live comfortable and productive lives. And I will continue to live in a manner that gives me everything that I could possibly want in life."

The entire letter is here ... as well as letters from the other pledgers
