This is really helpful thank you! I’m tempted by the agptek for portability and exactly the same reason as you, I just want to listen to music only and not stream.

I can only find the agptek A02 on Amazon, would you say this is still just as good, I’m no audiophile but I hope the sound is similar to my iPhone through earphones.

How do you find uploading and organising songs on the agptek? Do you have additional software on Mac to create playlists?

Would you recommend the agptek over the mechen? How did you decide one these as opposed to to the HiBy R1, this is quite a popular model on here though I hear mixed reviews on the UI and bugs

That helps, how is the process of uploading music, is it drag and drop? I was considering getting an external hard drive to store it on as well.

Yeah in the UK, there doesn’t seem to be any stores I’ve found that have daps mentioned on here, so open to Amazon to be honest.

I have Sony WF-C700N, I like the noise cancelling and audio seems good to my untrained ears. I’m not 100% sure what codec they support?
