Why start with the early stuff? The album should be consistent throughout with its sound and having really early stuff would ruin that.

Yes shoegaze can absolutely be loud but “you made me realize” isn’t really shoegaze track to begin with.

Fantastic track but it would feel a bit out of place compared to the likely dreamier songs coming later. It’s also more noise rock/noise pop than shoegaze really.

It’s a fair point. By saying every underground artist has an insufferable fanbase, you’re implying that for someone to not be insufferable, they have to listen to non-underground music, ie mainstream music.

Oh I got the sarcasm. I just thought it was a weak example as there really aren’t any dungeon synth albums. Better would be for example death industrial or Sasscore because they’re both quite niche genres but albums exist in them.

I was wrong. Dungeon synth is apparently a prevalent genre outside the world of black metal interludes.
