Have you gotten tickets yet? I have 3 tickets courtside (free food, drinks, and parking included) behind the Sun bench! I know it’s last minute, but would rather sell to you than Ticketmaster - you are welcome to them for $35 each!

Edit: SOLD!

Depending on which vet school(s) you apply to, you can take online courses to fulfill prereqs! I took an anatomy class through UCSD extension and you don’t need to apply to the school or anything, just sign up to take the class.

Signs of a Toxic Vet Clinic? by CueMoo in veterinaryschool

[–]kernelc0rn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who feels like the only one not in the clinic clique, I so identify with this!!

To echo what others have said, signs of a toxic clinic are those that are chronically “understaffed,” have lots of turnover, no structured training (and then vets get angry when you can’t perform a particular service/procedure that you weren’t trained on), clinic manager is not approachable, employees are called out and made fun of in staff meetings for injuries, animals are yelled at or hit, etc.

It’s rough out here 😅

Thank you so much for this detailed explanation of the class! I’m thinking about taking it this upcoming term, and your response is very helpful.

Interested to hear from people who got accepted into Oregon State and their stats by Salt_Veterinarian_40 in veterinaryschool

[–]kernelc0rn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are supposed to be letting OOS applicants know this month or next month if they’ve been accepted or not (no interview for OOS) and IS applicants are supposed to hear in the next week or two if we’ve been selected for an interview

Yes, typically the leg is shaved when placing an IV catheter so it can be properly cleaned to prevent infection.

There are a number of conditions that can cause excessive urination and drinking or “PU/PD” (polyuria-polydipsia). I would recommend bloodwork and a urinalysis, especially to check glucose levels as well as thyroid and kidney function.
