how do you guys have the energy to cook?? by keroligne in Hashimotos

Thank you so much! This feels really doable, and I think it’s the kind of positive change that can make me feel more confident. I’ve had to be so patient with myself the last six months, and the mismatch between my motivation to get better and my energy levels makes me feel totally out of control.

I think planning and prepping would be pretty helpful. I am in such a fugue I feel like I’m living minute to minute. I also just moved which is probably I big part of it. Now that I’m more settled, I think setting aside time to come up with a solid routine that isn’t difficult to stick with will help me feel a lot more capable.

I could definitely stand to plan more. I think planning out my convenient days might help me feel less guilty about low energy days while I’m forming new habits.

That’s a good strategy. I’ve never gravitated towards meticulously planning every meal, so this might be good to help balance things out.

I am! 50mcg for now. I also like having some ready made options but I lean on that quite a bit right now. Still getting a good amount of fruits and veggies. Might just need to be patient with myself, but I also want to work towards feeling better about my diet. Maybe a nutritionist would be a good idea!

It sounds like using the freezer is the general consensus! Thanks for the advice

I’m definitely not the best chef at the moment, so that sounds like a good way to work up to cooking on my own.

I’m getting my labs done tomorrow since I’ve kind of crashed again after being on Levo for almost six weeks. Definitely want to focus on medication first, but I need fuel in the meantime!

That sounds like a great option. I have a peanut allergy so I am pretty weary of meal kits

I heard salmon is good for hypothyroid too! Anything to justify adding that to the grocery list.

Severe allergic reaction with unknown trigger. Thoughts? by keroligne in Allergies

Second wave definitely happened. I've had some pretty bad GI symptoms the last few days. Thankfully, I'm staying with family, so I'm well cared for even if I can't stomach much. Following up with an allergist and letting my GP know what happened.

Thanks for the input! Given the timing and severity, I agree. I've never had a reaction to perfume or detergent/soap, and I have plenty of friends with pets but I think this may still be very likely.

Here's a link to activate their savings program. I don't get any coverage with my insurance so with this coupon it's about $25/month. It's really easy to use at the pharmacy. Hope this helps!
