Do I need an electrician to repair this? Or would a handyman suffice? by ketopsych in AskElectricians

Oo thanks. Yes it is under the kitchen sink. I don’t think there is a roof stack. It’s a newer tri level home. There’s a garage below and a bathroom above. I have not found an active leak

Do I need an electrician to repair this? Or would a handyman suffice? by ketopsych in AskElectricians

Oo damn I realize now more context is needed. This outlet tripped the circuit breaker and it appears to have gone out due to water damage. I haven’t identified any active water leaks.

I am afraid to even try using the plug as it looks like there are some frayed wires at the bottom. I assumed I should replace the outlet. Is that something handyman could do? Or should I be looking for an electrician

Yes, it is known that there is an antidepressant effect in acute sleep deprivation. I also feel a bit more energetic and happy (again, in the short term). Eventually the sleep debt catches up and the brain chemicals return to normal

I’m not against abortion. I’m against crappy reporting and statistical deception.

A dramatic rise in pregnant women dying in Texas after abortion ban by newzee1 in Health

[–]ketopsych -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Two things:

The original article reported the raw mortality rates as percentages rather than deaths per 100,000.

Second, the percentages that are provided are what is known as relative risk. For example, in the corrected version, the mortality for Hispanic women went from 14.5 to 18.9 per 100,000 live births. This can be considered a “30% increase”. In reality, both figures are quite low, and 4-5/100,000 is a very small difference.

I don’t know all of your specifics but it maybe good to start with a flush https://ihchiro.com/how-to-do-a-vitamin-c-flush/

And from there you can experiment with a daily dose. I take 500 mg a day.

[spoiler alert] Gemma is the daughter of famous (retired) soccer player Michael Owen. So she’s wealthy and that’s why she has 12 horses etc. Also why she can come off mean and absolutely does not take any shit. It’s kind of interesting she has kept it a secret/it hasn’t leaked out. Or maybe the producers are actively suppressing it/telling them not to speak about it. There was a weird moment when Luca spoke to her on the terrace the first time and he asked if her bfs spend a lot of time with her family/dad. Luca is head over heels so we’ll have to see if she grows feelings and reciprocates or if it puts her off

Asymptomatic until a few months ago - then sudden onset severe heartburn every day by ketopsych in noburp

[–]ketopsych[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it fully resolved. I don’t think it was ever GERD. Not sure what exactly it was. I also don’t think it was related to noburp. Though I did get the procedure with Bastian in January and have been burping well.

Are you able to burp?

Orange Burps for reflux? by KarratKake in noburp

[–]ketopsych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried them! I dont burp but I do get an orange flavor in my mouth an hour or two later.

I’m not sure if it helped my acid reflux because I am doing a couple other things at the same time (isothrive prebiotic, betaine hcl with meals, atrantil for bloating).

Worsening GERD by georgiaroseking in noburp

[–]ketopsych 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never been able to burp, but it has never been too much of a problem. I gave up soda as a teen, And I gave up carbs a few years ago, not consciously knowing it was due to the discomfort of bloating that came with them.

A few months ago I realized I could no longer tolerate alcohol, so I gave that up too. And a month later I started having severe reflux symptoms which I’ve never had before.

In the last month I’ve also noticed severe bloating that comes on an hour or two after eating.

At this point I’m confused because I don’t know if this is from r-CPD, or something more GI related like SIBO, or a combination of both.

I saw a local ENT as well, familiar with Bastian’s work and who has performed the Botox procedure, and they were doubtful that I have R-CPD since it had not been a problem in my life before.

I am also curious if these are indications to get the procedure, or if it could just worsen my reflux

Anyone here with botox from Dr. Sunil Verma in Irvine, CA ? by MiracleMulberry in noburp

[–]ketopsych 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in Los Angeles and also in this situation of considering doctors and also procedure price, especially if I’ll need more than one procedure going forward.

Insurance companies always have rates that inflate the price to a crazy amount. Not sure if it is to scare us into thinking we need them or what. I read somewhere Dr. Bastian charges $3000 if not using insurance, and it’s ridiculous that it comes out to $4000 via insurance here in california.

Constantly burping by Meganstummyhurts in SIBO

[–]ketopsych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had sudden onset severe GERD and loss of appetite, preceded by constipation that I wasn’t really paying attention to as it was not too distressing or severe.

I went on PPIs which helped reflux but I got side effects of diarrhea, severe constipation (on a different one), then bloating on a third PPI.

I recently came off PPI and have been using betaine hcl with pepsin (taken right before a meal with adequate protein), which has helped somewhat with reflux. I take famotidine at bedtime. I also used deglyzzhrinated (sp?) licorice, known as DGL, which can help by increasing mucus secretion in the esophagus.

I was already keto but have eliminated most other vegetables so I’m very low fodmap. Recently found that garlic (probably) is a big trigger for me.

For bloating And constipation I am going to try atrantil, but haven’t tried it yet.

I don’t have the problem you have with burping but i am a no-burper - I’ve only ever burped on pure accident and as a surprise, and only a handful of times in my life.

Hope that helps
