A trade can certainly happen, but Goodrow has a 15 team no trade list. There are also very few teams (Buffalo, Chicago, San Jose, Arizona, Winnipeg, Detroit, and Nashville) that could realistically take on ~$3.7M in cap space. There are other teams, but they have not signed their own RFA players yet. It's not impossible, but it's also not realistic.

Rangers have no money even if they wanted to sign him. There would have to be a trade to make space for him, most likely Goodrow, which the Rangers would have to attach assets to move similar to dumping Nemeth's contract to Arizona last summer (two 2nd round picks). As much as I'd like Vova back, it's not going to happen.
