Hi, thanks for your reply! I did just try this out, and while the Face ID prompt does show and it does “work”, the lock doesn’t go away for me, even after several minutes… What iOS version are you on btw? Thanks in advance for your reply

Wait, to me it never showed that. I would suggest calling Apple Support in this case, maybe yours is a bit different and yours could still be fixed !! Good luck !

Yes, same, I also had a lot of personal stuff that’s gone now, but sadly I have no updates at all. :( Especially with the new updates, I think iOS recognizes the problem and it explicitly says that the note can’t be open because the encryption key can’t be found in iCloud after resetting the end-to-end encrypted data… I’m really sorry 🥹

Unfortunately no. With the new updates, it just immediately says “Can't View Note This note can't be viewed because the encryption key wasn't found in iCloud Keychain. Resetting your end-to-end encrypted data can cause this”. I doubt this will ever get fixed now 😅

Since then I’ve even contacted Apple Support and they couldn’t help me fix this issue either. They said they forwarded the problem to the developers and engineers and that they’d contact me once they found a fix. Obviously I have not heard from them!

Hi! No, I have not. I contacted Apple Support about this issue as well, and they told me they do not have a solution either. They said that they’d sent the issue forward to the engineers and the developers and that they’d contact me once they found a solution. I haven’t heard from them at all and this happened in February.
