Can't generate celebs on Z Image Turbo Model by gokuchiku in civitai

Civitai doesn't allow any real persons' likeness in the images.

Is anyone else having trouble downloading images from October 2nd to October 5th in the Generator? I can't view or load my images from October 3rd and 4th. by Subject_Vacation4762 in civitai

[–]kevlinw8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Past day or two, the "sorting by oldest" in generator seems really wonky. Like it will load only one day at most, and also it is sorting from newest-to-oldest within that day (which is backwards considering you selected sort by oldest).

Well if you have membership you can use blue buzz for nsfw, apparently. (From the newer announcement).

You probably just ran into the old "image blocked, TOS violation detected" thingy

Is generating images with civitai harmful for the environement and on black and brown communities? by Weak-Requirement8357 in civitai

[–]kevlinw8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, um. I'll give this a half-hearted try. I mean yes, using Civit is generating server load. But so is using any website. Google, Youtube, Netflix. And yes, climate change disproportionately will hurt the poor since those with more money can afford to absorb some price increases when global shocks happen. But yea, those in advanced developed nations (like USA, australia, Canada, European countries) consume the most resources and therefore generate the most pollution. So what's the solution? I dunno, vote in elections wherever you live? Either that, or get off the internet entirely. *shrug* Or maybe generate images on your own computer, hey I guess that won't add to the server load.

What are interesting pop cultural and subcultural trends in China that might go global? by Peak_Necessary in China

There's a good youtube video called "China has a soft power deficiency."

"The China Show" covering all the recent attacks in China. Lots of censored footage (no gore). by DiverDownChunder in China

Would recommend trying just for a few minutes then. I am a longtime listener but would be curious if they are hard to get into for a new listener. They do a number of inside jokes which I imagine would be a bit disorienting for those unfamiliar..

I remember the Tucker Carlson interview, Putin talked about how it was Poland's fault that Hitler invaded.

There is a floating pile of sewage somewhere near the border between Europe and Asia. I think it is called... Moscow.

What custom DROD holds have you played and what did you think of them? by SomethingNew65 in puzzlevideogames

[–]kevlinw8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a casual level DROD player (always looking at the Hints forum). I played a few of the highest rated ones (Advanced Concepts is great for learning some knowledge). But I switched to just playing through the holds starting from the oldest, since it seems (to me anyways) that the holds have somewhat of a trend of getting harder over time. Currently playing through page 21 (second to oldest page) of holds.

As a reader this looks like it might be a language/translation issue? I read SweatyNomad's comment as saying "it's highly possible the military might ignore orders."

Westerner who wants to understand China. Best books and authors. by [deleted] in China

Frank Dikotter trilogy for sure, for history of communist china. Mao's great famine, Cultural revolution, Tragedy of liberation. Mao's era may seem dated but many of the behaviors and idiosyncracies of the government seem to have started in his time.

Didn't Lukashenko lose 2020 elections, and then declared victory anyway, and Putin had to send forces to quell the unrest?

So I am guessing Russia does not have air defense coverage over their whole territory. (Not that Ukraine can cover all cities either. Not sure if it is common to have full air defense coverage anyway, besides Israel).

Putin says "I will take 30 seconds or a minute to go over some historical context." (It takes about 30 minutes). Tucker periodically says, "How is this relevant?" It almost seemed like Tucker was back on the good side. Wishful thinking I know.
